Like this, you get the bosses and weld them on and weld up other holes depending what breather you have, not a massive job.
You can see I have welded the pin hole on the top to stop the oil coming out and also cut off the pressed in steel elbow and and ally welded again that hole. Its marked...
Don't buy an impact socket mate as it won't fit on 90% of wheel bolts due to its diameter. Also try and check the socket you get on the nuts as the newer Halfords deep sockets have shallow hex in them and smaller than 1/2 straight through so studs won't fit through.
On a FWD Clio with McPherson struts and a trailing beam rear suspension it will have little to no affect, I would say the opposite to you.
It will have less an affect on a track car due to the angle the components sit at (front and back as the wishbone sits around about level and the beam also...
Just a couple of quick questions before bed, its had quite a marked past on this forum. Did you replace the injectors as it had various faults pointing towards them and did you get conformation on the timing belt being done?
Cup racers were evolved as the were produced and I'm almost 99% sure that's not oem 1*2 rear calipers, its certainly not the original fit hubs. They are very much a mixed bag of parts from one to the next.
As you can see in some of shirts pics he has the latest edition rear dampers (iirc the...
I believe you have the two piece rear hubs and iirc they are from a Mk1 laguna like most of the bits on the cup racers so I'm guessing the calipers are the same.
Speak to IanSpeedy as he has been through this and opted for standard Clio 1*2 disks which I'm sure are a straight swap, I think he...
To the same note that going down a hill will affect your camber/caster/toe if you measure from the horizontal. Basically its not worth noting unless your doing a 3" chassis/suspension lift and fitting 20" wheels to the rear.
Whats wrong with silicone then ;)
I was reading that waiting for silicone used for head gasket haha.
Yeah its maybe not worth it for reliability but I hope my next engine will rev to the moon anyway so rebuilds will be necessary.
Coilovers are good in function as they were freed and adjusted and changing the damping makes a huge different. The yellow paint on the bodies isn't great but I have been 'told' they had done circa 4000 miles prior to getting the car.
Everything is staying together just now but I'll keep you...
^^^hahaha. I take it there is a video in that link I can't view as I'm out of the country?
I have made sure to series link this though for the LAWLS. I have already had to endure two episodes waiting for this to come up. Let's hope they don't show your driving eh Gaz ;)
Didn't you build Baroon/Bazoons car Fred, it was quite fruity with the overbore, Its basically free torque for very little spend.
I have heard the oem gasket is brilliant which would read true having never seen a knackered head gasket yet.
Aye any specialist or low market value car will always be worth more in bits. Its the effort required in selling and sending everything, my parents already joke they feel like they work in a parts warehouse, my dad was even considering a forklift and getting my mum trained up to make it easier...
Mmmmulti quote!!
That was the plan from day one really, to buy it, use it for a while and then sell it on. I have done two track days in it now so its served its purpose. I am away to change jobs very soon and the money in the bank would be better at this moment. I was going to break it for...
Yeah that's the next step I suppose unless I buy another car of some type.
Everyones after the 2118's Neil, they will probably go on the car to make it more desirable to sell. I have Clio parts coming out my lugs, I need to get rid and not buy haha but are the 1.2's good condition?
Im testing the water here, I'm on the fence about breaking this or selling it complete this time home. The car is mechanically near perfect and the body has a few age related marks, two of which I added with my ratchet straps for my trailer (nothing bad but I'm fussy) I will replace the front...
