Have now sold my Clio but the NRG boss was great, good solid bit of kit, needed to take gloves off to push the little quick release button to remove but that was no biggie.
Need to replace rear lambda sensor on my 172 Cup, has anyone replaced one recently and can recommend where to get one for best price (save me some time hunting around on net ?). I notice that the rear sensor cable is slightly shorter than the front one but assume the actual sensor is the same so...
Cheers for the replies, gave K-Tec a phone today and they said it’s only a 6 month warranty on the sports cats, damn! I was convinced it was lifetime when I bought it but must have been mistaken ?
Took my rear silencer apart (Yozza race system so nice and easy), check out the pic, it’s choked...
My Clio 172 cup cut out under hard acceleration and some glowing red debris came shooting out of the exhaust, car turns over but refuses to start, I think the cat has disintegrated and blown back into the rear silencer. I bought the sports cat brand new from K-TEC two years ago and was...
The Yokohama A052 is now available in 15" and therefore contemplating buying a set, has anyone tried a set yet on track with their Clio and can provide some feedback?
In the bigger sizes, they're getting rave reviews.
Been using R888 / A048 / DZ03G up to now but keen to try something else/new.
Yes I was thinking that as well, I’ve a 2 post ramp at home which helps masssively, it’s basically an hourly rate £50/hr and I usually say to the guy to stop after 2-3 hours to avoid it being too expensive but with constant fiddling, this is almost an annual event/cost and I’m about to add...
After constantly fiddling with things and paying for corner weighting every year, I'm prepared to take the plunge and get my own set, the 3 below seem to be the most common 'entry' level scales available in the UK, wondering if anyone has any experience of buying/using them, especially the STR...
Thanks for all the responses, after an inordinate amount of time spent researching this, decided to go with NRG 2.5 from Driftworks, hopefully will arrive tmrw and get her fitted at the weekend.

Does anyone have this fitted to their track/race car and can comment on its reliability, I'm looking to change to quick release to make getting in/out my track car easier as well as bring the wheel slightly closer (this...
In the course of removing the front hubs from my 172 Cup to have the wheel bearings replaced I see that there is a tooted ring sitting on each driveshaft. The drivers side was so rusted that it just broke into 2 pieces, the photos show the ring in place on the pass side and the broken ring on...
I fitted new B14s to my 172 Cup in 2010 purely because I wanted to start getting into track days and wanted something that would be better suited to track use over the standard setup but still be usable on road. IMO they were perfect for this but for road use only and if you're looking for...
Ah right, I fitted a brand new Contitech belt, I'm pretty sure it's the alternator, the squeak goes away after 2000rpm, it's definitely more a mechanical sounding squeak than a belt type squeak. The oe belt is no longer an option now I've moved to an epas set up.
Hi mate, my 172 Cup is doing the same thing, started a slight squeak, most noticeable when starting from cold, it just started after fitting epas conversion and fitting 5 rib aux belt so maybe it's putting a slightly different stress angle on the pulley, what did you end up doing, replacing the...
Well I finally got this job done and had the car out on the road today for a test run into work. The ECU for the power steering is constantly clicking on/off and hence the power steering is on/off, on/off. That was undriveable so I turned the adjuster knob completely off and made do with no...
Just to check when you said these come with "proper boots" that'll be the boots for the 172 and not the DCI rack because the steering rack end of the boots on the 172 are quite a bit bigger than the DCI ones so presumably I need to swap both DCI boots onto the 172 inner rods?
Cheers Steve & James.
I see what you mean, not much in it but the 172 inners are longer.
Oh well, that's the next step then.
Chuffed I managed to get the original rack out without dropping subframe although engine out and access to 2 post ramp helps
Hopefully someone that's done this job before will be able to help me here, I'm half way through doing this and following Graham's guide which mentions you need to swap over both inner tie rods from the 172 rack to the new DCI rack. Why do you need to do that, will the 172 TRE's not fit onto the...
She's basically just used as a Track Car nowadays and running 180bhp thru intake/exhaust/RS Tuner map change but not planning on going down the ITB/cams or forced induction routes, might change intake/map in future to try and squeeze another few ponies but that's it. Therefore was thinking that...
Hi,
As per title, I'm away to change the sump gasket on my 172 Cup. Engine is out of the car so should be relatively straightforward.
I wondered if there are there any other gaskets/seals/parts that are recommended to be changed at the same time as renewing the sump gasket?
Thanks
My oil pressure switch has been broken for almost 5 years and now that I've got the engine out of my 172 Cup, I've decided to replace it. I checked on Eurocarparts and two parts were listed so I said I would take both and will return the one I don't need.
See photo - there is a green coloured...
