Anyone know much about the electrical layout on the Cup? Horn is still hit and miss but I recently had the n/s headlight bulb blow. The horn then worked fine. Replaced the bulb today and again horn is being a swine. Sounds to me like a dodgy connection so wanting to check wires in the arch for...
I've had a quick look at the car today after work. The n/s cv boot is again loose at the larger end so will need repacked and secured with a jubilee clip. Couldn't see anything else untoward underneath the car so videoed the underneath to look at again a few times on a larger screen
Tyres are partially worn through but still plenty of meat on them and well above the legal limit. They're a budget brand albeit rated B for wet weather. Brand is Runway 925 performance and apparently from black circles as their performance budget line.
Clio 172 Cup. The issue I'm having is essentially when driving over rough road surfaces where it's uneven and small craters (not potholes), the steering wheel will pull and try to steer itself. It's not to the point where it's uncontrollable but it is noticeable and getting worse. There is also...
Screen was just plain white. Tried reloading and nothing. Now it says an account has been created and when I try to login I get the same plain screen. No connection issues or broadband problems at all
Got a PS4 from the missus yesterday and typically I forgot my password. Tried a number of times to get the reset email sent and every time it says it has but nothing arrives. Now I just get an error message. Even tried setting a new account up and having similar issues with that.
Anyone know if...
Could I put some soundproofing or something on the rear beam and exhaust where they touch, or nearly touch to reduce the knocking and vibrations? As a short term temporary solution?
Pm me info please. Just replaced both mounts in the past 2 weeks but open to see what it is.
Could I fit sound proofing material to the exhaust and rear beam where they're close to cut down on resonance and impacting.
My exhaust seems to be knocking on the rear axle. I have a ktec stealth but I'm sure it's not properly aligned so was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for somewhere to take the car for the exhaust checked and adjusted if needed. Local to Newcastle ideally. I do have new hangers but it...
Bought my 172cup "cheap" compared to the prices they usually go for standard, although it had no paperwork or history with it and it needs the dephaser done. I was in 2 minds with it but when I did a bit of digging it turns out it used to be running a 230bhp turbo conversion and has Koni...
Still got this. Albeit it seems reduced since I've had some work done- exhaust backbox hanger, heat shields removed mid and backbox, 2 new rear springs as one was snapped and the brace for offside driveshaft tightened up. Rattle is gone, car handles nicely again and exhaust drone is much reduced...
Id be up for the next meet if I could make it. Mentioned to Stu yesterday about wanting mine on the rolling road to see how healthy it is if that's still a possibility as well
I've had a rattle on my car since I bought it and assumed it to be exhaust related. I took it to my local National Tyres who replaced the rear mounting for me, realised the noise remained on the test drive and spent extra time removing the rear 2 heatshields for me and noticed what the rattle is...
I recently bought the same car with the same exhaust although I have a decat. Mine only seems loud cruising at 3300rpm and above as the exhaust seems to resonate with the empty boot floor and wheel well, and amplify the noise in the cabin (it is nowhere near as loud outside as it sounds inside)...
Update on this if anyone can help. All lights now sorted but still no horn. Checked steering wheel wiring and all okay. Even fitted a mk1 indicator stalk to rule out an issue within the steering wheel itself but no change. I'm not sure of the wiring in the wheel arch where the horn is located...
I've got a hum noise that is only present 40mph to 60mph. I was certain it was a wheel bearing but I checked them myself and no play or roughness at all. Even had a garage check them and same opinion as me- no issues with the wheel bearings. There is a tooth missing off an ABS ring but as my Cup...
2 wires that are attached to my loom but attached to nothing. They were under the slam panel heading into the passenger headlight area. What are they? (Apologies for poor pics)
As above. Andy is the guy to see. Always emailed me back within a few hours when I've emailed him. Or pop in and see him? Within easy distance of Newcastle
Just had the car on a computer and 4 faults were present. 3 showed as memory only and 1 active. 1 was about low voltage but missed the code. Anyway they were reset and the only one remaining was DF184- passenger seat pretensioner circuit open. The fact the horn doesn't work seems to be...
Noticed the other day my airbag light is on and the horn doesn't work. Nothing has been adjusted or anything, all fuses are intact so I'm suspecting issues with the steering wheel rotary switch. What would I be paying a garage or auto- sparky to diagnose and sort? Don't fancy playing with...
Right this is all sorted
The cause was simply the seal being in the wrong place. When I opened the pump up, the seal was in the cap instead of below the pump and assumed that was where it was meant to be so left it there. And so there was nothing to prevent the fuel getting past and out...
I think the issue is that the locking ring isn't tightening down far enough. I only seem to get 1/2 turn or so before it sticks, even using a large screwdriver and hammer to ease it around. Or is that about right to tighten?
Right boys and girls, I think I know the answer to this but wanted to confirm before going ahead and doing anything.
Filled my Cup up earlier on up to the brim- took 44litres. Took the car to Benfield Road Renault for my new gearbox seal and then on to Metrocentre. As I was driving, there was a...
