Left my wiring, and PAS connected in the bay when i removed mine, i even left the coolant hoses attached to the heater matrix (hardest pipes to remove ever??!)
I also scrub the mating surface of the cam cover with a steel wire brush (gently), and some scotch brite to clean the surfaces then wash it in a bath of soapy water and a scrubbing brush, rinse with water and leave to dry.
I use loctite black silicon. just spread it thinly with my finger.
Have sealed about 5-6 RS cam covers this way, never had a single leak, never found any silicon beads in the oil pickups or sump.
Something like this >> http://shopping.kinugawaturbo.com/nissansr20detgt28gt28rt25t28turboadapterflanges13s14.aspx
But appropriatley sized for your turbo.
I fail to see why a universal sensor would not work as long as the plug fits, all sensors will output the same generic 0-1v output. Although i would not question buying a cheap make. Bosch seem to reign supreme.
Lol it appears someone thought toothpaste would be a good substitue for a gasket. THey can be a bit of a pig to fit in situ aswell. All manifold bolts are easy to get to, but pulling the manifold clear of the studs to slip a new gasket in can be quite awkward!
It goes under the gearbox mount casting. Its a royal pain in the f**king arse to fit that pipe. There is a tab on it that bolts to the end of the gearbox casing (where the end cap is bolted on), thats a right fiddliy b*****d to fit.
You need to jack the engine up, removed the gearbox tray...
Loctite sealant has no chance at sealing that particular area. I had to changed my HT leads after a track day once miles from home this seal mysteriously dissapeared when i removed the inlet. tried padding the area with MANY layers of electrical tape, it didnt work lol. Luckily a mate not to...
Luke, KTEC will be mapping it on their GEN90.
Done quite a bit of work, its not far from completeion really. I was quite worried this morning got it all going but it was puffing quite a bit of smoke out the back when revving it at no real point (reccing, idle or overun), sort of hate these...
I couldnt dream of even driving it up the road on Stock ECU/MAP, i would poo my pants at the thought of melted pistons. I've desttroyed MANY engines and cant afford to blow another one up just yet...
Ah does make sense! i will wip the compressor inlet hose off tommorow and check the compressor is spinning fine while the engine running, if it is ill turn a blind eye to the turbo noise (or lack off in my case), and just get the fucker mapped :D
Right everythings done now, all pipework fully bolted up, it idles high in that video because there was no aux belt on, put it on and it purrs as standard (thank god not an air leak), however it doesnt make any turbo like noises. I obviously haven't driven it anywhere (althought i wonder how...
Watching on youtube out of curiousity some bloke getting all 8 notes. He barely even saw slender man had the ocasional high pitched screeching noise but just turned away straight away.
Its the very end that s**t me up... he got all 8 notes, the music dissapears, everything seems normal right...
I am led to believe the Cup radiator is slightly slimmer, could someone measure theres for me please (just the width).
I want to relocate my oil cooler behind the cross member (so its not sitting directly behind the intercooler), but the radiator is fractionally too fat, and im wondering if a...
When the car is up to temperature there is a constant flow to the header tank, enough to cool the turbo. I know of at least 4 turbocharged clios that used the top thermostat housing outlet as the coolant feed for the turbo and have no issues, and one of them has been turbo'd since the year 2000...
Straight from the Garett website (i believe). WAter cooling plays only a small part of reducing heat soak when the engine is switched off and does not play any major role when the engine is running...
Oil & Water Plumbing
The intake and exhaust plumbing often receives the focus leaving the...
