You can see in a few of the pics, the water feed comes out the top of the stat housing and goes into the top of the turbo, then a pipe comes out the bottom of the turbo and runs into the top pipe in the header tank.
Standard LUK clutch for 8psi, paddle (or organic? i dont know?) for high boost...
Thanks Mick! Just been outside to check, i have a Green, White and light purple wire, i think ill have a probe around (ooo errr) with a multimeter tommorow.
Scotty didnt know that, i was told to get a 2 bar sensor straight away, i'll ask some more questions to the person mapping it.
Erghhh i was hopeing that this problem wouldnt arise. i did test for "flexible'ness" off the car on the manfiold to decat has quite a bit of freedom. My mates Mk1 clio turbo used to snap the downpipe for fun and has been welded more times than ive had hot dinners but he has a side exit that is...
Quick update nothing special.
Mr UPS man dropped me off some minty fresh pistons today, ill be putting these in another block in a few months time and cranking it to 300bhp
Picked up the sump from the garage round the corner who ally welded on the bung, they did a nice job.
FItted...
Im wiring in a R21 2 bar map sensor for my low boost conversion. I know the pinout for the GM sensor, but i do not for the 172 wiring loom.
Can anyone tell me what colour wire is for power, ground and signal?
Thanks
The actuator arm (turn buckle), and actuator will 99% either have an imperal 1/4" UNF thread or metric M6 thread.
1/4" UNF turn buckle arms can be bought from the forge motorsport website (£15), or if its M6, i have a spare you can have. :)
I've just gone through the same problem with my new...
People will genereally say you MUST used Type D on an F4R. Personally i used "Motul inugel expert" as suppled by Opie oils, its a "monoethyleneglycol" concoction and hasnt appeard to erode away my engine block yet. I think you will be fine.
It will be fine, like i said in my last post about this, im sure even brand new dephasers have a tiny amount of play in them. You will probably notice its always the exhaust side that is perfect but the inlet very slightly out. Nothing to worry about IMO. regarding the tensioner how far has it...
THe way i do it (which is probably 'not by the book accurate'), but worked everytime.
- Line up bottom end at TDC
- Horsehoe in
- Pulley locking tool on, tighten "chocks" against pulleys
- Loosen crank bolt, and both cam pulleys, then loosen "chocks"
- Remove old belt
- Remove all pulleys and...
HIgh comp 2.1L F4R on ITB's with some cams should make 216bhp all day long...
Although im surprised most people who "boar'd it our bruv" usually claim much higher figures, surprised it was'nt 250+ tbh
First job, the the downpipe needed a fire ring, its some stupid ass size, the stock 172 manifold one is too loose (they measure about 66mm ID), .2.5" gasket is about 3mm smaller so i bought one of those, but again that was slightly too loose and wouldnt stay on the downpipe so i wrapped the...
Productive weekend
Turbo bolted to manifold, one of the bolts is a c*nt to do up, still not sure if its tight enough as the spanner simply wouldnt turn it anymore and there is literally the smallest window for access.
Downpipe bolted to turbo, again one of the bolts was a c*nt to do, same...
On hindseight i obliterated 2 valeo clutchs, on one, one of the steel band pressure springs shreared meaning i got constant clutch drag, the other just exploded and made a mess of the inside of the bellhousing.
6 of one, half a dozen of the other e.t.c
I do believe LUK make remanufactured...
Target idle is raised on the Ktec 438 map, an obscure number of 958rpm sticks in my head.
Should be noted the only strange thing i noticed when i had my car mapped for the cams. Cold idle was spot on, however when you pull away then dip the clutch the idle used to go quite high and hunt up and...
Bit of a sweeping statement that.
Rubbish as in what King Components supply, or you dont like King Bearings. King Bearings and Hastings rings both have a good reputation on the internet.
I mean its not as if i was giving the valves an easy time, i was using 421 cams which will increase the stress on the valvetrain by a bit, and they did explode at 7500rpm.
But IMO F4R's should be able to rev to 7600rpm without issue, so i blame the pattern part valves.
No, all the parts in stock, if you phone them up and make your order by about 4pm they overnight the parts to you for the next day, its a very fast serivce :)
