Try adding a temporary earth to rule out the problem. I just ran a cable from the negative terminal to the engine hoist hook (cleaned it up with a wire wheel first) and since ive done that its been fine. (Need to put a permanent one in) Other thing to check is the exciter terminal on the...
Had the same problem with mine. Its a refurb from about 6 months ago. Checked the exciter earlier wasnt really corroded and voltage was getting there fine. Added a temporary earth to rule that out so will see. Think its a new motor/solonoid required. 2nd hand ones are cheap on ebay. Its in a...
Yeah ill get the POS up in the air tomorrow or Saturday and have a look. The relay was fine.
if its not that then i guess ill get another starter and maybe fit it or get it fitted by someone else. Don't have the enthusiasm i had 5 years ago, plus the fact everything wet outside.
Thanks for the...
Hi guys
small problem with the trophy, where the starter motor is sometimes engaging other times just relay clicks once and does nothing. but if i hold it in the starter position it will sometimes kick in after a few seconds.
Lazy solenoid or maybe corroded exciter wire? Its a refurbed unit...
If you were nearby id come have a look lol. ahh sure timing will be fine then!
Do the TB yourself, very simple. screwdriver and 10mm socket brake cleaner and a toothbrush.
Injectors again easy, take off fuel rail guard, 2 10mm nuts. then unplug injectors and set avo to 20ohms and record what...
Definitely got a problem at 22mpg
So to recap, tb cleaned, new lambda, checked coolant temp sensor. You could check your injectors also with an avo they should read 14ish ohms. Perhaps one is faulty and chucking too much fuel in
does it pull ok? timing could be out, unlikely probably...
Not thats its much help but I can confirm the pre cat HO2 sensor looks healthy and functioning as it should. How does it drive as apposed to idle and engine lghts fault codes to lead a clue.
Check other things like engine coolant temp sensor also. check resistance with an avo when upto temp ill...
its on the wrong side for the gearbox but i guess it could have made its way there somehow. maybe they undid the engine mount. not sure not done a clutch on one of these.
have to laugh at that! glad you found the problem before more serious damage happened
get it on diagnostics and look at the voltage, check my previous thread and you can see what it should look like - a heartbeat
i did it on the driveway with ramps, about 30 mins because of that damn plug above the subframe.
Expect a garage with a lift could do it in 15.
People will be really disappointed when they bolt on a new tb and expect results. However quite often you notice something in your head so you may trick yourself
Pretty sure ngk's are standard but fair doos!
Sorry im kinda runnin out of ideas if you were near me id come have a gander you can always use spare parts too then helps massively lol
Just noticed you have champion plugs.
Never heard bad things about them only super 4s but everyone recommends specifically sticking to NGKs..
Also check the MAP sensor value when the ignitions on, see if its reading roughly atmospheric.
