I 100% agree.
The best single mod, abiet expensive, is to just get bodies. Bolt on, huge torque and power. Nevermind the suspension, its spot on for a road car which you can throw around without worrying about any snappyness you get with lower and stiffer suspension.
My perfect road clio...
Nope.
You cannot use any insulating gaskets of any beneficial thickness as the aux mounts and plenum mount bolts/plenum breather seal will no longer line up.
You can undo the top alt support bolt and lean the alt back.
But i normally use a 1/4" ratchet with a 3/8" adaptor on it and an extension tube on the ratchet handle. Plenty of space.
Hello Hollister,
We have not used direct replacement valves for the F4R, but the OEM items are not great if subjected to excessive bounce. So i have no experience on the valves you have shown.
However we do use racing valves from existing engines with very similar geometry that require...
Does it drive poorly?
A customers car did something similar it turned out to be the ignition module/coil, it was dropping into the 9's for AFR and rich stalling before it picked itself up.
undo the 2 10mm bolts holding the plastic fuel rail to the lower manifold, then just pull the rail and injectors off in one peice.
The o rings can be very dry and seized in most cases, a little penetrating fluid helps.
Dont touch a phantom, pointless.
ATB's are helical, and just like an open diff, if one wheel has no traction then they dont work. They constantly seek 50/50 torque distribution......i dont like they way they drive.
A plate type LSD is what you want.
lol
Nobody ever questions the £120/hr that accountants charge to add up their bills.
But engineer something from scratch.......whats that worth, £100-£200.
I'm afraid cosworths R&D dept is slightly larger than....me.....and their economies of scale combined with production power means that they can produce items at a much lower market cost. However they have to spend significantly more on initial R&D and production tooling. They base their pricing...
People are worrying too much about what they think Ben should be doing. Like i said, its just an evolution of his original plans.
And its far more expensive for me to make up a new plenum design just for this application than just convert my exisiting manufactured parts. The ITB's are...
ITB's and a charger....why?
In Bens case, its more of a case of why not?
Ben originally wanted a built ITB engine, so everything was setup for that. Then he wanted nitrous, so thats ok.....
Then he wanted a supercharger, and so I said ok, it can be done.
Then he wanted...
Re: Finally, a little update!
The design is nothing bar a modification of the original F4R design, however the F4R implementation has not been pushed since we have been doing our ITB's.
The main issue on the F4R is the unknowns. As always, space is a real scare commodity, and although there...
Quite simply, renault are cheap. They make cheap pistons that fail easily with excessive rpm, and thus the power dive at 6800 forces a gearchange.
Those who have 7800-8000rpm limits and live at them on track often, will be likely to see failure.
Cup racers are limited in rpm for this...
Re: Finally, a little update!
Most certainly can.
I have entered into a whole new development program for the F4R. Its a good port as stock, as in it works well, but in terms of how close it is to an ideal port for the base geometry, its miles off.
The bad news is that the required...
