You think? I thought it looked terrible. I mean, obviously it looks incredible, but it's so realistic graphically that it's now really really obvious that they don't move exactly like an F1 car should...uncanny valley!
I haven't seen any photo-realistic graphics from the PS3 or 360 that look right yet, in fact I explained this in detail to someone after seeing this stunning Sony F1 HD video earlier, and I was pointed to this wikipedia article...

That explains...
Reviews are coming in from the US now, Wii Sports looks awesome, can see the missus and family loving this, and it's free!

Not really fussed about how I will look, or that it is perceived as a kids machine, as long as I'm having fun (and I'm pretty sure I will be) that doesn't really matter. I see grown adults playing on the "kiddie" DS every single day, the naysayers said it would be demolished by the uber-powerful...
PS3 vs X360?
I'll be getting a Wii, can't be doing with all this "my graphics are better than yours" rubbish, and I don't have a HD TV so no interest in Blu-Ray/HD-DVD for a few years yet. Just want some solid fun games here and now to play with the mates/family/missus etc, Wii seems to fit...
That's the one, couldn't think of the proper name.
Just incase you're unsure waitey, on the D50 hold down the flash button and rotate the dial until you have a flash symbol with "REAR" written under it.
Oh and go with manual focus, at f22 or somewhere around there it pretty much won't...
At night try an 4 or 5 second exposure in A mode at something like f22, set the flash to fire at the end of the shot. In theory you should get some cool light trails but also plenty of detail from the flash at the end.
No that is normal, with a tele adaptor you can only use it after a certain focal length, otherwise it is literally seeing the additional lens on the camera.
My FZ20 + 1.7x tele extender needed to be set past approx 6x zoom before it could be used. To be honest the 12x zoom of the camera...
Does anyone know the best path to take to buy this?
What I've figured so far:
Full Boxed Version = £500
Upgrade from Photoshop Elements = £430
Upgrade from Photoshop CS, Photoshop 7.0 or earlier = £145
I only have Elements at the moment so it's going to be £430 as it stands. I'm...
Best thing is to get the morning off and head out to the shops, my bosses partner did this on 360 launch day and managed to get 3, he sold 2 to his mates with a £20 mark-up.
Not easy in London but if you live in the sticks like me apparently it's not hard to find such things.
Basically there are 3 main ways of going about macro photography...
Close Up Filter
A thin circular filter that screws onto the front of your lens, essentially it's a magnifying glass. Good because they are very cheap, stackable (in simple terms, buy more than one, increase magnification)...
As you are new to it I wouldn't run out and spend a load of money on lenses etc, it's not really going to get you anywhere. Practice your arse off with the kit lens and try and find a solution to every limitation you come across.
For what it's worth, the 18-55mm will do a fine job for Macro...
December 8th, I've pre-ordered with Play.com on the day they listed it, but I'm not in a hurry for it so if it's pre-Christmas delivery I will be happy.
I don't think anyone can guarentee one, and apparently interest has been huge so Nintendo are expecting to sell out (and obviously the DS...
Once it's set-up get Saving Private Ryan on DVD (make sure it has the DTS track on it, possibly the best ever, the DD5.1 is awesome but the DTS will blow you away), crank it up and prepared to be amazed.
It was the first movie I watched on my DTS system, incredible.
Just to throw the cat amongst the pigeons, Nikon are apparently close to announcing the D40 DSLR which if correct will be released fairly soon, essentially an entry level DSLR with the same sensor/processor as the D50 and a new 18-55mm kit lens for around £350.
Yep it's essentially the only exclusive relatively 'normal' game, but then the whole system is about "obvious Wii titles" as you call them, so that's no bad thing.
If people want to play "EA Franchise 2007" the 360 will do those much better, much like the PSP will handle those better than the...
Anyone who bought new (and at full price) could not have expected any less than huge depreciation, happens with nearly every car so not worth worrying about if you want to buy new. A car is for driving, not an investment.
On the other hand, I bought my Cup second-hand, and a year later after...
