why dont you email and ask what the maximum power it can take is? Probably along the lines of this "umm arr umm about 400HP" after all it is painted red ;)
I dont know if there is anything you can dunk aluminium in to take off the oxisisation as its very hard. Best bet is probably a brass wire wheel on a drill.
