Does this make any sense? Paying particular attention to the last paragraph. I know its b****cks but its quite an interesting debate unfortunately its got beyond my knowledge. Although logically thinking about it I think hes chatting more s**t.

Can someone who knows a bit about mild steel/stainless exhaust systems give me some info on the below.
With a stainless system water just sits on the surface and congregates, when the hot exhaust gases pass over it evaporates producing the fine white mist that you see.

seems pretty pointless there not exactly dirty. Whats wrong with car shampoo or if that doesnt cut it fairy and then if that doesnt cut it id look at something acidic.
My gasket was pischly cut out lol. Its not easy to work with
But I can also confirm inlet was miles cooler with the PTFE gasket on.
Need to do a before and after air temp reading on the same day ideally.
I had similar issues with this and it was a loose earth cable that attaches to the top of the gearbox id deffo check that!
Exactly same issues with the engine just dying and gearbox light flashing

fair enoguh its more difficult to get a decent finish but then practise makes perfect :cool:
Is that how you got the engine with the cambelt on?
Or did you put the belt on yourself?
If he sold you that faulty thats really quite out of order im sorry to hear that.
