but when you say 'overheat' how hot are you talking, and why are we talking about tachometers when we should be talking about water/oil temp gauges?

But pinking, knock, det and auto-ignition are all very different abnormal combustion characteristics and cannot be labelled under the same tag.
Knock sensors detect knock because it is not physically harmfull, but has a stronger harmonic signal than pinking so is...

Cant see any reason why a well spec'd clutch would be crap, just choose the one thats correct for your application.
The problem isnt the mapping really, not matter what you do you cannot compensate for map pulsations at idle speeds due to high overlap periods, which is what is causing the car to run like the preverbial sack.......and is why they altered the timing to close up the overlap from the factory...
They only cross at said number if both torque and bhp lines use the same axis or both axis have the same scale, which they arent in the first graph........dont know why people do that, but they do sometimes.
The second graph has both torque and bhp on the same axis.
