How does the engine run once its warmed up? I dont know about the remap thing your talking about but as its a main dealer jobbo its gunna cost you a pretty penny so id look at the mechanical side first

does it start if you blip the throttle?
Listen to the fuel pump when you put the ignition on it should hum for a few seconds while it builds up pressure
Sounds like fuel isnt making it to the cylinders
what do you mean wtf, if you value your car and your safety your surely going to want to ensure vital safety components are in good working order. For me this would be new tyres for sure brakes an oil change would also be sensible.
But you can just do it if you want but thats what Id do not...

etc etc could go on forever just use your head a little.
Compression test your engine if your worried itl blow up, believe the f4rs are approx 160-165 PSI compression out the factory
why not just not bother and get a paper one I explained all this is a thread before. Why cant people search this topic is discussed every day without exception sort it out people.

I'm very skeptical that ANY wax could last a year.
