Depends what you want both have there points.
Personaly I'd use the diesel the petrols in some ways simplier and diesels are mor common abeitly with different technologies but you'll get the idea.
Your mates wrong to get a good setup you need to spend a lot to get anything good suspension wise eiback are the best springs only if you are only willing to chnage the springs. I'd never recomend anyone to use anything else.

I'd personay get a normal 182 with cup pack suspension.
As for the seats and the spoliers well its upto you and resale I'd get the spol;iers for reasle but not for me personally.
The recaro seats arn't for everyone and for me the trophy is to hard a setup.
Well have a look at some of the junk which people claim is better and then come back and you'll agree with me.
Renault made the best setup for the price and what was required of it.

The 3's had sunroofs the 1 and 2's never ever had them fitted by Renault.

1) Common sort of problem no perfect fix is avaliable the spunge etc I'd never recomend puts to much load on it. If Renault have done all the possible fixes leave it.
2) Get the bottom ball joints etc checked as well.
