I would say Prospeed. Being up your part of the country, it is a trek to Cardiff...but they make the exhaust for your car (rather than take it off a shelf) and its circa £330 with lifetime guarantee.
You can have it stealth, or cut into the bumper...dependant on how you want it to look.
Have you checked the fitting kit? Its 2 springs near where the manifold is (before the cat). If one of the 2 springs has snapped, then it can make the exhaust blow and rattle. They're about £16 from Renault. Just get them to put it up on the ramp, and then go towards the front of the car and...
Matt Black maybe someone good to talk to. The Clio TT used to have a 172 Cup engine running NOS. He decided it wasn't quick enough and went for the TT upgrade.
I don't remember his setup though, not sure if it was wet or dry. Might be an idea to ask him. :)
The plastic splitters for a 172 Cup are circa £140 from Renault!!! Thats for a bit of bloody plastic. Or the blue blanking plates from the 172 Cup are £55ish quid for 2!!!!! When you go to the dealers, bring some lube!!!!! ;)
They are good cars (Think I'm baised), check if its near 72K/5 years, Cam belt needs doing. If the original suspension is on it, it will have the 4K rattle (just irritating, not harmful), this doesn't happen (usually) with an aftermarket exhaust. The standard exhaust is good, but they are prone...
He's altered the design slightly now, so that where the silencer meets the pipe, there is a cone type design (to allow more metal to be in contact due to larger circumfernence [sp?]) which shouldn't allow to the failure.
Yeah, its a Renault item, its a collar for where the pipe leaves the mani heading towards the cat. There are 2 springs (one either side) one of these springs had snapped...so the exhaust was blowing. The kit is circa £16.50 from Renault. The exhaust had a rattle after putting your foot down...
I do like the stealth exhausts, but would probably go for cut out next time. It sounds good...and since I got the fitting kit sorted, the car seems to be pulling like a train now. :approve:
Back last November when I got mine done I was charged £320 (should be around £380) but because of the Word of Mouth business he gets from CS, he gives us the discount. :approve:
That is for the standard build, obviously if there are other options (don't know what on a stealth exhaust) then he...
Some places 'allow' it as a modification...but the condition is that your car is in a roadworthy condition...so if your car is in a condition where it would fail an MOT would assume that your policy is null and void! With a decat in...its an MOT failure (unless you know the right people! ;))...
There was an issue where a load of the guys went to Aldon Automotive a few years ago...someone put their 182 on, and the guy said "Well done, you've got 137BHp"...then the rest were all reading similarly crap figures!!!!
I'm doing it to see if there is any difference with a new SS Exhaust and...
De-Cat is potentially an MOT failure due to emissions. A Sports Cat is not a guaranteed pass, but is better than a decat (as they're not strictly legal ;) :quiet:) A decat is better due to less restrictions on the air, but every 12 months you'll have to take it off for the day for the MOT...and...
Its not a problem if you wanna come. There will be another Focus st and an Astra VXR as well as 2 200sx's, Rob's Teg, plus about a million Clios! ;)
The RR is open to anyone. Some people just wanna see how their car performs, others have done mods since the last one and want to see if there...
Car's 4 years old in October...currently on 77.5K.
Doing about 250 miles a week commuting now (used to be 500-600!!!), plus personal mileage on top!!!
So you mean that you've got the best of the MK1 and MK2 Clio (not including the Vee) ;)
They are both good cars...shame there aren't many Williams's that haven't been fettled/abused for not much money! :(
Remapping is just changing the program on the ECU (Chip) to a new one. This can be done by using a set map (something stored and generic...not specific to your car or engine mods -cheaper) or you can get live maps when your car is on the rollers and the map is specific to your car (these cost a...
