You are right...its just a standard windscreen...the ones on the 172 and 182 are heat reflective so weight a little bit more (I'm unsure of figures for the difference). It won't make too much of a difference really...its the whole package where the weight loss is...

I got the packs of 100ml stuff for xmas...just wash and reuse those when empty, and dip a paintbrush in for the tyres...just don't put too much in there in case little bits accumulate when you are dabbing the brush.

Insurance won't allow RS models...you can have a dynamic drive in one! The best you'll get would be 3 litre V6 Laguna...or Megane CC with 2.0T lump in it. I did this up in Weston Park on Staffordshire/Shropshire Border last year...RS models on show...but you couldn't drive them. :(

Just like with the 172...it was arguably the 172 Cup, and 182 it was definately the Trophy.

When you get your tyres done...they normally tell you to check the bolts after 50 miles or so...just in case. Did you do this?

I had similar with mine. They upped the premium by £20ish even though I had an extra years no claims! Thats why they say in the ads that it doesn't affect your no claims! It doesn't...just your premiums...the sly gits!

If the insurance want to write it off...remove ;) the blanking plates on the front bumper, I'd be interested...make a few quid out of your loss! :quiet: If the chassis is buggered, then they'll prob write it off...they did it to Chris's Cup, and that was hit by a glass fibre bonnet that came...

I think that the £430 was with a percentage off...don't know whether it was the 30% or not...you're expecting something for £430 with another 30% off!!!! If only!!! It will be there or thereabouts at £430 for the pair with subframes...don't be asking miracles now! ;)

They were offering them last November in the blackrock fabric and Mk2 Clio subframes for £430 the pair...IIRC. JayHunt, ChrisK and I were v.tempted!

Colin, I know its a fair drive down...but you could sample the seats first hand if you went to the factory...or try to source somewhere nearby and see what you think!

I am currently in work...and can't check my personal email from here (no web mail allowed!) So will check when I get home... Don't expect it to be done till after 6...as have to travel best part of 40 miles to get home!!!

I've sent a mail across...see what comes back. Might even pop in there...see if the face to face approach works! But as I've said before...people would need to factor in courier service to get the seats to their homes...or even...arrange a meet in Telford, and then go to the factory for those...

Are we gonna include personalisations in this as well??? Just asking as they were gonna do us different colours, stitching options as part of the deal. I was gonna get my name done in it, even though it would make my seat unsellable! :dead: Just so I can take it to the guys there and see...
