Joe at BTB has mentioned the possibility of a production run of 182 exhausts over the winter. Won't be cheap as they are more complex than the 172, but would hopefully match any previous group buy prices.
If a BTB won't give you a power/torque increase then nothing will (but it's never going to be huge). I felt that the car was much more eager in the mid-range.
For information - BTB have confirmed the price for the 182 cat conversion at £170 + VAT. Price based on you supplying a usable 182 cat. Price is supply only and doesn't include fitting kit or return carriage.
Plenty if you search. Try http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?452983-BTB-172-stealth...-mmm-yes-please!&highlight=btb or http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?490066-My-172-btb-exhaust-arrived-today&highlight=btb
If the lambda sensors are ok, I would question the 'sports cat'. I can't understand the removal of an expensive OE sports cat to replace it with a cheaper aftermarket sports cat.
It's not just the quality of their work that always impresses me, but also the enthusiasm. At one end of the factory they are producing exhausts for the Noble M300 and Hennessey Venom, the other end there's a historic Ferrari Dino racer on the ramp worth millions and in the middle is my Clio...
After having the BTB stealth system fitted last year, I wanted to fit a sports cat to make the exhaust as free-flowing as possible. A aftermarket sports cat was an option, but I've read plenty on this forum about problems with emissions and MOTs and didn't want to take the risk. BTB said that...
If you can, try and hang on until payday and get a BTB stealth - far better than the K-Tec for the same price (and in stock). Alternatively, maybe the mild steel KTEC is an option to save some cash. Where has it broken?
I would imagine that the cat replacement pipe is exactly the same length as the cat - so logic dictates a cat should fit back in. If I was a 'phone a friend' I would say 90% certain!
Re: Clio TT (172 cup)
No. I've known Joe for a few years as he's always put his exhausts on my cars. The last car was a Vectra and the only thing on it of any interest was a BTB exhaust - hence my forum name!
