DO you trust a tuner that starts his info with I think!!!!?????
And by the time 1000 miles is up, your way past the point of return for bedding in the rings properly.
That site tells it like it is........THATS the way to do it.
IF your box was absorbing 30% of the engine power and converting it to pure friction, parts would break. Thats enough heat energy to heat the average house.
And your using a good few pounds of fuel an hour just to heat the gearbox, very unlikely.
Hiya GR.
If it was a leak from the thermo housing it should be flamingly obvious and you should be able to get it replaced underwarrenty or have your garage mates do it for cheap/free if you hand over the part to them.
A relatively painless 20 min operation maam.
Your castor diff is quite large, and if youve had a knock on your NS front then i would check the bushes, bush mountings, ARB mountings (as it can pull the wheel back). shock top mount, bent shocker...loads to check.
16V manifold is just about better all round.
But its the willy/16V exhaust that are the same, only the flange on the manifold bottoms are different.
So you only need a cat or decat for a 16V if you put a 16V manifold on your willy.
Yup, a half decent garage that sees alot of renaults would be preferable.
If the bearings are pressed in poorly then the bearing wont last long from new. There are just far too many monkeys out there.
Gen Ren bearings are a tad more expensive but are higher quality, places like GSF and ECP...
Dropping the subframe is removing the engine.
If you dont want to take the engine out then you can do it by undoing the nearside hub and squeezing the box into the recess, gives you about 5" to work in. Easier for me as i got teeny hands and i dont lie unplugging everything and having to...
Not all rolling roads can do this, but thats not the point.
It might not be as random, but its is almost as misleadingly inaccurate. Sure, its at least an attempt at gathering data on transmission losses, but due to the nature of a gearbox, it leads to just an indefinite result.
With any...
Point is, you dont ragg the thing senseless. You do what is required to bed the rings and itll burn LESS oil than a granny running in. Why, because it seals better.
Really?
We never has the screaching noise with the new meganes. I had the 2ltr 5 door for a while, nice car........probably better than the clio when the 225 comes out. Great chassis.
Manufacture reccomendations always err on the side of caution, it is their money afterall if it breaks, so they do prefer you pitter potter about.
With brakes ive written about correct bedding in. Bedding in is the simple process of burning off the bonding resins and this doesnt take 200...
GDI is near cambridge.
But for 1500 quid i would expect a full engine rebuild, not a partial one. ANd that means every bearing under the sun replaced, new rings, rebore and hone, full top end rebuild with tappets, cleaning of valves, new stem seals.
A new or decent engine can be had for...
Not saying rag it, im say that there is a systematic approach to what your trying to acheive.
Ifmost people understood what happens then you would see why babying the engine just isnt worth it. Ive probably had the only 172 on this forum which never suffered a single problem despite being...
:o
How can they quote you on a repair to which they dont even fully know the problem!!!!
and 1500 quid!!!!!!
If its your main or big end bearing oil pressure shoud be very poor and itll be a knock, not a tick.
I think they may be getting ready to pull yor pants down.
1500 quid, get a...
