Someone recently said in another post that their car feels faster on some days than others. I also feel that sometimes my 182 seems quicker or slower on some drives - sometime even on the same day!
Now I know that my car should be happier running in cold dense air than it would be on a baking...
The inspection for that is called the MOT and the law will pick you up on wheels that stick out beyond the arch.
Wheels protruding the arch will also p*ss of any following cars as there will be no spray surpression when it's wet.
The track must be the same as the cup packed 182's then. Both the turini and the anthracite 182 wheels are et45. The wheel base on the Trophy may be slightly longer, which should increase stability in faster corners, but the difference has got to be minute. The front wheels on the Trophys...
A proper race car pad set up would be nice as ours will only be accurate to the nearest 10kg. When you weigh it make sure you know accurately the amount of fuel in the tank.
The recaros are heavy! I doubt there is much weight difference between them and standard seats.
The cups also lost the split fold rear seats and rear headrests, which will be a few kgs. I think that side airbags were also lost?
Total weight difference between the two cars is only 20kg.
I know what you mean about the size of the wheel, but mine is showing no sign of wear at all (34k)? The only change of steering wheel you could do that would suit your requirements is a 182ff wheel - but I don't think it's that much smaller?
Have you checked your brake fluid level? Any recent changes to the braking system or had it serviced recently? When was the last time the system was bled?
Just had the new Demon Tweaks catalogue drop through my letterbox - noticed that they now sell wheel adapters for VW wheels. Haven't got it infront of me, but I think they convert hubs to allow fitment of 5 stud VW wheels. May be worth a look.
Does anyone know if OZ still manufacture the old motorsport wheels like in the photoshop below? I know they used to have them on escort cosworths when they rallied and more recently on the fiesta rally cars, but I can't find them anywhere! Any ideas? I know that Compomotive do something very...
I would imagine that the H&R's would offer a level of adjustablity that would enable you to get a similar set up to the standard Trophy one. If you want it to be comfortable on the road just choose the right spring rate - for coilovers the choice is virtually unlimited.
It's not the best financial decision you'll ever make - just 3 years old and a massive depreciation hit. At least you know full the history of your car.
I must admit I've been thinking about selling my 182 cup (also 3 years old)for a while and replacing it with something older and more raw...
Think it might have been Monaco blue, but not sure. Aftermarket alloys and exhaust - sounded very nice and looked spot on.
I was in the inferno 182, I'm sure you saw me ;)
I've driven a couple of IS200 sports long term. Very comfortable, though not massive inside, lots of toys - the heated seats were lovely. Nice and planted feel to it, but most definately did not like to play! It never felt happy when the tail came out, so it wasn't long before I just stopped...
