£10k is a lot of money to spend on a first car! Wouldn't bother spending more than £2k - save the rest of the money and buy something nice when you've got some experience behind the wheel.
Congrats on the purchase!
You say you filled up with 97 as a treat - most on here fill up with this or higher all the time, check the fuel filler cover - there should be a sticker stating 97 octane only! (At least they do high mpg on the motorways if you stick under 80!)

The only 'all things equal' race I had with a Cooper S was at Santa Pod, I've just had a look about for the timing slip - I got a 15.233 at 90.37mph, the Mini came in (second thankfully) with 15.761 at 90.20mph. So not a lot in it really. I know these times aren't definative as times can easily...
No one has really slated the Trophy though have they? A few might have said that they don't like red cars, but that's as far as it's gone? I personally love the concept and reality of the Trophy. I'd love to drive one to find out just how it feels on that suspension set up (hint, hint - please...)
I had the pleasure of playing with a GP the other night on my way home from Basildon (218 bhp, 1090kg version?). It was definately quicker than my 182 at the speeds we were travelling (60+) and was pulling away slowly, but I was surprised by how little there was in it. Nice rare motor though.
The seat option was available before the Trophy was announced. I bought my cup with recaros about a month before the Trophy was launched. Being honest - I wish I'd known about the Trophy at the time as it was a bargain until Evo started singing it's praises - you could have had one for...
Had a few quotes now: £665.96, £620.48, £551.46, £477.12 and £296.00. The cheapest didn't ask what the plate was and I only told them it was a Clio, so probably not correct. The one for £477.12 said that the aux belt didn't need doing. So it looks like it's pretty pricey! I do have a leaking...
It's a 2005 car, so the cam belt shouldn't need doing just yet as far as I'm aware. It is a Renault main dealer, with oil and all other associated parts. Still sounds expensive to me.
Funny, there was a blue 172 cup behind me today on my way home from work leading up to the M20 roundabout from King's Hill just before 17:00, don't suppose it was you? Nice looking car - always think they look nice when on the move.
It's a fair trek from Rochester to get to David Lloyd's? I'll keep my eyes open for you next time though - think there are a few nice 1*2's at King's Hill.
Blue 182 parked next to a modified Skoda Octavia VRS estate on the road entering King's Hill Estate, near West Malling this evening at around 17:30.
Didn't think much of the Skoda, the blue lights and reflective graphics were a touch over the top if you ask me...
Yeah, we were trying to get some video of some of the drifters from inside the car. Unfortunately the only thing I managed to do was pretty much destroy my front nearside tyre. The guy drifting the AE86 was pretty impressive! I only saw a couple of 1*2's down there - obviously yours (if I'm...
A friend of mine has just bought a 51 plate Clio dynamique. When you turn the ignition on (without starting the engine) there is a buzzing noise that seems to be coming from behind the dash near the stereo. The best I can liken it to is the noise of an electric razor. My 182 doesn't do it...
Forget the list, the review of the 182 cup had some good points:
"...the ride's firmer than some drivers will expect, but the result is that the body feels tied to the road, there's little roll and the car's brilliantly controlled over crests, dips and bumps. It's certainly the best-driving...
