They only have certain base maps though do they not? To get mine set up right id a thought a live map would be the best, no?
Got to admit ive read about that kit and not been too impressed. Prefer to leave the mapping to the experts who know what their doing lol
Whats your opinions with...
Long story
Had a SMT6 and it ermmm blew up so had another one fitted.
Local mapper tried to map it and didnt know what he was doing and the car ended up running like a total crock of poo
Took it down to Paul for a full day who managed to get it running this side of a normal car again lol...
haha nah these are fine. Dont get any tapping from them at all. Rate them pretty high in terms of value for money but i know they are classed as budget especially these days. When i first had them fitted think there wa only Schrek (sp) cams on the market
Got a second set of injectors here ;)...
Cams, headwork, inlets, maxogen, decat, zorst , 182 main etc
I dont want to throw in injectors if there not necessary but i could be running pretty close to the limit especially if i try and extract the extra horses with it aledgedly running lean top end
always had a problem with this car...
Asked a couple of people regarding this over a few month period and there seems to be a 50 / 50 split so thought id post it on here lol
Own a Ph1 172 which was rolling roaded at roughly 200 bhp fly figure. The person who RR'd it noted that it was running lean top end of the rev range and that...
Heard of a few getting low 14's but has anyone managed to scrape a N/A powered (not running NOS either) 172 / 182's into the 13's on a quarter yet?
If not, will it ever be done ? lol
Its only a tenner too!
More than enough to reach from lower grill / fog light set up and thats without having to stretch it so the plus side it stays very rigid, the only down side is due to the diameter of the ducting / CAF you will have to adjust your horn set up and if you run a 172 ph2 /...
I posted a thread up about my temp gauge reading lower a while back and wondered if it could be something to do with my giant CAF or the heat wrapping on the mani.
Cant see how a few degree's drop in cold air entering the engine could make the whole engine run at a lower tempreture? :S...
Depends what tin foil you get.
I bought, i think it was originally, Green tin type CAF and it was total s**t. Tore with in a week.
Been running 100mm (4'') Homebase kitchen ducting type tin stuff for approx 2 years and its very very strong indeed. Bends into position and dosent tare...
As said on another thread. Unless you map it to suit, you wont see the best from it.
The 'quickest' Clio's on here aint running panel filters - nuff said :quiet:
Best induction kit you can buy. Quality of the fit and build are second to none. As Steve said, you'd get a fair whack of your cash back if you come to sell it too.
Like any breathing mods, ideally match it up with getting the fuelling sorted to get the best from it
I dont buy the hype...
Had the ICE install for a number of years but want to step up my quarter mile visits this year so would like to make it as quick and easy as possible to take the amp rack part out.
The way it was all plumbed in was by having two power cables running from the battery, positive and negative, to...
You dont have a acoustic valve if you own a ph1 172. They came on ph 2 172's / 182's
Problem is with the headlight grill their isnt that much room.
Ive got mine in the fog light which does the job. Its all down to personal taste tho.
yes.
It wasnt below freezing but it was a cold night. Picture was taken as soon as i drew to a hault after a 30 mile A road and motorway drive.
Been like that for a while not just recently
Only issue i could think of could be running on the cold map ie choke out? so would be a big drop in fuel consumption and possible engine damage?
Not sure if it would need to be lower than that tho?
Could this be a simple temp sensor fault?
Its amazing how times change going by the initial reactions.
Few years back folk were drooling over the thought of a turbo 172. Now a days folk scoff at such a thought.
Is tuning dying a slow death?
