Hello, Im stuck on a project im doing for uni. I have never done php before so im a real novice. anyway to the point I cant seem to get session's working on it and if anyone knows anything it'll be a real bonus!
I have only had the car a few days so ill have to check that. I only checked the relays were in correctly not if they were sticking, ill have a look thanks.
I'd try and swap the 1.2 for a 1.4 as the engines are stright swap in them cars best bhp per £ in that sitiation. i did it on my old 1.2 energy engine cost £175 and no one would know the difference.
However if you do try and get the 1.4 throttle and injector on unlike me I could only get hold...
My fog lights dont work, yet when I use the wash wipe on my wipers the fog light flash what can that be. I checked the fuses when i first noticed they had stopped working. Then I checked all the relays. Im not sure what it could be maybe a bad earth?
The car is a 172 02 plate not sure if this...
make sure you change the throttle body's i did a similar thing to my old clio and it was rubbish with the 1.2 throttle body. you can get a 1.8 throttle for the old energy engine that helps with a small power gain.
other than that it all seems a to get expensive
will a laguna 1.8 16v 2002 engine fit in my 2001 1.4 16v clio?
will it go on the gearbox or would I have to change that aswell?

I read in a Magazine that there a concept car from renault a turbo twinglo in the making that sounded awsome. the clio is just growing into a magane so they'll end up with another small car to replace it. Same with the corsa and other cars.
yeah proberly better to get a 172 too but i just would like to keep all the stuff ive done to my 1.4 saying that i havn't done that much, I'll have to get saving cheers for the replys.
i was thinking i would like to put a 172/182 engine in my ph2 mk2 1.4. I know it's not worth it.... but i was just curious who does it and how much, I know k-tec do one for £3000 that just seems a bit pricey does anywhere else do one cheaper?
I've heard that putting a laguna throttle body can make a small improvment? does anyone know. im looking at putting a 1.8 16v 2002 onto my 1.4 16v 2001 clio. Also is the 1.8 actully bigger i know for certain the 2.0 one is.

( i say cheap i know sports cat cost loads more than decats but i have heard loads of stories of people having road side emmisions checks)
cant you put an inlet off a laguna or summat to get a very small bhp increase ??
i also got a cold air induction kit way way better than a cone filter,
also a cat back custom exhaust made a slight increase
hey i have a 1.4 16v dynamique + and its quite rare i dont see many others seen a few 1.6's around however my cars colour is rare as anything it's called 'dune'
i'd say a panel filter in the box or cold air feed induction kit and exhaust(full system) mine picks up better and runs smoother on the lower end after that.
Any one else got ideas on anything cheap and cheerful to do to a 1.4 16v to get some powergains?
my old car got more mpg when i put a 1.4rt engine in it from a 1.2rl mainly because of the higher compression and the fact i left the 1.2 injector + inlet on so it ran a bit slower but ragging it i got 260 mile to a tank and it wasn't much slower than a proper rt.
I bought a 51 plate 1.4 16v had all the issuse you have had and more ive had:
new engine mount (found after 8 times of taking it to a local renault dealer under warranty)
2 coils
not starting (sensor issues took 4 times to get it right)
2 bearings
varuous trims falling off on me eg the one...
i got a full system from exhaust uk and it pops and bangs more than my mates with a full magnex sys and decat.
i woud recomend full system or just keep tappin the accelerator when engine breaking. it puts fuel in and then right out into the exhaust, it used to make my old car with just back box...
Mines a bit funny sometimes, some mornings it take 2 times to start mostly on damp days. also when warm it sometimes takes 2 goes. it went back to renault about 7 times they could never figure it out they had less idea than i did. so i think it might be french thing.
