Just to clarify I am not running my amps at full gains, more like half way.
The problem is my front speakers distort at anything higher than this, whereas my rears could run on full if I wanted to.
Overboost, how long have you had the kit and what condition is everything in?
I am quite a way away but I might be interested if you would be willing to maybe meet me part way? (Birmingham)
email me mate

Would be different wouldnt it? Plus carbs are a lot cheaper these days.
The main issues I see are:
- Getting rid of injection system for older technology = less efficient, less reliable etc
- Getting a custom inlet manifold made up. Anyone know of a company that would do this?
- Increase...
Hmm I considered it for a short time but there are a few things to consider.
Firstly you would need a custom inlet moanifold made up. Asuming you managed this you would also have to deal with the fact that carbs need a lot of attention to keep them running sweet. Also could be a problem come...
Just to prove FSH and low mileage dont gaurantee a hassle free car:
Bought my car in Sept 2001. It is a very early 1998 phase 3. Had 24K on the clock with a FSH Everything looked mint
Then 3 months later 3 exhaust valves burnt out and I had to spend £600 on repairs.
Its funny reading this...
I used to have an Ashley cat back 2 1/4" bore monster with a 4" tailpipe.
Was fun for a while but OMG how loud? There used to be 2 cars parked a couple of houses down from my girlfriend and if I gave it full throttle at night I used to set both car alarms off every time!
Anyway I have...
The only thing that bothers me with fitting is that on the 1.4 clio there is no inlet ducting. The filter sits right on top of the throttle body. So when installing the NOS injectors would I have to drill into my inlet manifold?

Yeah Ive got a cdfx-701 The one with the blue dot matrix display.
I bought it because it has every type of connection under the sun on the back which I needed to power the rest of my system. (3 preouts/aux input etc)
The only criticism I have is that its not quite powerful enough, despite...
OKay cheers for the replies a couple of answers.
- the head unit is a 4x50w Panasonic 701 job, not a piece of crap
- I am running the subs from 1 amp, and bass through everything else as well otherwise it sounds too flat
- In respect to the speaker/amp rating my amp is rated at 2 x 120 max...
Cheers mate, do you think it is worth investing in a controller. I think basic ones are around £260 but apparently they make it safe to double your shot of NOS provided it is done progressively. As you can probably tell Im not too sure how they work

Yeah it really would be too much hassle. Like most things it is possible but nobody has/will do it because of the costs involved. It wouldnt be worth it.
Check your airbox first of all.
If it has a 2 box fixing your ecu cannot be chipped - sorry
If it has a 3 bolt fixing then it can. Hill power chip is apparently the best value at around 150 quid. Dont bother emailing him he never replies ring him up hes a great bloke
Mate seriously it would be too much work and too expensive. If you really want a turbo then I think a transplant is the only viable option.
Believe me I wish it was a simple bolt on job affair. I pestered a company called Van Aaken for months because they were turbo charging a Twingo and...
Just to add to the above thread. I want to try and get a feel for what its like to drive a nitrous equipped car. When do you flick the switch, do you keep the gas engaged whilst you change gear, when to engage/disengage the gase etc etc
Any help is appreciated mate, so go on convert me to the...

Hi mate I am thinking of fitting a NOS system to my clio and just wanted to further my understanding of how the system operates.
A switch is fitted to the dash which when flicked arms the system right? Am I right in thinking that there is also a microswitch mounted on the throttle body which...
Ben that sounds like an excellent deal.
I am sure you can appreciate that I am not bothered who I buy the kit from I just want the best price/deal
Anyway like I said before, count me in definately!
Let me know if/when enough people are up for it.
I have a few other queries regarding NOS...
