Over here, you can spend a fair bit of time without going below 100. The Willy is not that great cruising the Autobahn at all. Buzzy as all hell and it sort of hurts to see the VW diesels just motor past! The oil temp tends to creep up as well.
My car came with two cans in a foam sleeve with velcro to hold it down in the boot.
The stuff works, but is a real pain in the arse! I have a spare in there now!
It didnt hit the rev limiter, but was turning around 6800RPM, not sure what the speed was reading at the time, but it must have been around the 225-230 mark.
I would like to know how many Ragnottis were built. I had seen somewhere that only 300 were to be built for the French market, and know of only 2 that made it to Luxembourg.
Renault had to flog 2500 apparently to meet the homologation requirements of the FIA for Group N.
Back in 1987 VW made a bunch of special Golf GTI 16v cars for various racing series. They had no sunroofs, no air and probably a few other little modifications.
Thing was they were built on Friday the 13th!
I had a Willy with over 100,000 miles on the clock that saw a lot of very hard use on the ring. It still had its original dampers!
My current Ragnotti has led a hard life from day one, 17,000km a good 2000 on the ring, Im on the third set of front tyres, just replaced the discs, 5th set of...
Well guys and girls, I think the 172 is a great beginners car as long as you can get insurance. When I was a kid growing up in the USA, we learned on 7 litre tyre shredding monsters with no brakes worth mentioning.
Get in touch when you are heading to the ring. I spend a fair bit of time there and live just down the road a bit. Happy to show you around.
25 laps last weekend.

I just have the stock discs. Dont know what the difference is between them and the Grp N ones.
My wheels look like sh*te. They have had four sets of pads disintegrate behind them.
Are the ducts available from Dieppe?
How about the pads. Renault Competition or another source? Prices?
The DS 3000 have a decent Cof, and absolutely no fade, but just dont last. Ill try the Endurance ones and see how I get on.
I dont mind eating discs as I feel they are a...
Philip, What race pads are you using? Ive gone through a couple sets of DS3000 pretty quickly and have a set of DS3000 Endurance on order.
Did you duct your bakes? Is there a kit for this?
Good answer to the depreciation question!

You need to get a racing jack. They have a roller or nothing on the leading edge and are purpose built for just your sort of situation. Usually far higher quality than the regular ones, as well as lighter.
The other solution is used by all the rally teams. Ramps to bring the car up before...
I had an Evo 6 Tommi Makinen. I have had a Ragnotti now for eight months. It is a great car and you will enjoy it immensely. The money you save in petrol alone will put a smile on your face.
My car lives on the Nurburgring and hasnt missed a beat yet! Knock on wood!
The Evo is in another...

As no Renaults are mentioned at all, I would imagine the car would b a test case, only eligible for consideration under show or display.
I dont believe that the V6 could be federalised...

A Snake Oil merchant has his day in court!
If you are thinking of visiting the ring you might want to have a look at these sites. Chat with peole who have been there and try to get together with a regular as it is a daunting circuit for the novice.
There is literally no run-off, many blind corners and it is very easy to get in...
