Nick,
Crazy thing about the DS 3000 is that they are supposed to be crap when cold, and are listed for racing purposes only, but I find them very good all round pads. They have a fairly high coefficient of friction and I found myself slowing down too fast at first in comparison with the...
Ive had both the Willy and the Ragnotti. I prefer the styling of the older car myself, as well as the lighter weight, but recognise the advantages of a car that is ten years newer. No worries about corrosion or what may have happened to the car under the previous owners care or lack thereof...
Seb,
Get in touch when you know exactly when you will be at the ring. Ill meet you there. Ill give you a few passenger laps so you dont have to wast your money on recce laps.
Has the NSX lad any experience? Pretty hairy car to learn the ring in!
Just put a little extra air in the fronts...

Search for Clio Williams
The link was not meant to be there. It is just a direct email to the seller through mobil.de. which should work only if you are on the page.

The car is in England by the looks of things though...

I have spent some time chasing down Megane turbos at the ring and must say that I was surprised at their performance. They handle very well and seem more composed than the Ragnotti in the difficult bits. And of course the extra power makes up for the added weight.
I hate the looks though!

Toypop, you are having trouble grasping the fact that we need to bring the revs up to a proper level and these are not close ratio boxes. Say Im approaching Aremberg at 170ish in 5th. I need to change down from 5th to 4th to 3rd, trailbraking the last bit. Heel toeing is the only way to do...
I heel toe every downshift whilst braking, either on the track or road. It just makes life a lot easier for the mechanical bits as it is a far smoother way of downshifting.
Cool. Youll have it well broken in by the time you reach Nürburg.
Funny thing about the type R, they seem pretty well matched to the Clio in terms of performance. I do like the seats though!

Dave,
You found one. If I were you, Id have a chat with the former owner and find out why it got traded with 1000mi. on the clock. You may be pleasantly surprised to find an old biddy who just didnt like the ride or something like that.
The two owner thing could be that it was a pre...
No need for a turbo.
Honda manages to get a good bit more out of 2l in the S2000. How does 240hp sound? If I want a 2 litre turbo Ill go up a class to the Scooby or Evo.
Naturally aspirated engines are more responsive and as long as the car is light, you dont need gobs of horsepower.
Ed
No turbo for me. A 2.0 putting out 200+hp in a lightened S1600 bodyshell and Id be happy. Wouldnt mind a sequential box in it either. This one would do though!http://erc.qmuc.ac.uk/cliosport/gallery/full/1063316945__100-0035_IMG_2.jpg
Thanks James.
I was enquiring on behalf of Clare/David. I do hope he/she hasnt gone the same route as Jilly.
Looks like there are two threads going now.

Clare/Dave,
Bit of gender bending?
Good luck with your search. I was trying to find one for you as well but have come up dry thus far.
