stripped out valver - interior painting

I was thinking about covering all mine with velvet like carpet? Just plain black. Nothing too expensive, just cheap stuff. Paintings an option but wont hide all the wires which are hanging about looking untidy?

    bucket seats

Have you removed rear seats? I didnt drill anything, just used the bolts from the old seatbelts on both sides, and the rear seatbelt clip bolts.

    Bucket seats

The seats themselves are really huggable and comfy. I prefer them to the standards. The driving positon is also great, but getting the subframes can be a nightmare, so look into that before buying the seats. However i tend to get back ache from longer journeys as the seating position tends to...

    Bucket seats

Most, nearly all bucket seats will be lighter than normal. Ive got some sparco sprints and they weigh nearly half as much as the standard seats.

    What to do next...

Yeh dont bother getting anything OTT. Keep it as close to standard bodywork wise. eg willy spoiler etc. Keep it subtle, looks mean!

    I like renault

Most Renault dealers will clean your car, some do without saying, most u just have to ask. Its the least id expect after buying a new car from them. I always get them to do it, even when im there to look at the 182... :D

    106gti vs 1.8 16v

Ive raced one in my Valver and never again. It was just as fast and caused me to blow up my clutch i was tryin so hard. :@ That race cost me £250 and i lost in the end.

Which Zymol wax on Artic blue

Carbon. IIRC carbon is for darker coloured cars, the other (creame) is for lighter e.g silver cars. << Carbon Zymol treated! ;) [Edited by Dust on 10 May 2004 at 3:10pm]

    Different exhaust smoke

Ok, so if the rings have gone or on their way, would the grey/blue smoke be a more constant thing like even when poodling around? There seems to be no smoke, only when ragging or cold. Im probably going to sell/trade in the cup. Need a bigger car, a cruiser. Preferably with a big 6 cylinder...

    Different exhaust smoke

Does different colour smoke mean different things? White/black/blue? Puffs out white smoke when i start it in the morning and puffs out black/blue smoke between high rev gear changes? piston rings? Im not too sure tbh. Gets driven hard most places, but well looked after(warmed up and down...

    FAO Valver Strippers + Restorers

*update* So far ive got it all properly stripped and cleaned up now, inc roof lining! The scrapping noise was the belt tentioner, once we got it off i was spinning it in my hand and it was locking up, lucky. Got that changed. The belt had actually frayed and cracked where it was too close to...

    FAO Valver Strippers + Restorers

I was thinking about the sunroof removal. Had another dodgy idea: remove the whole sunroof unit, get a 16v scoop(the bonnet vent scoop), some perspex and get someone to mold me a roof scoop(rally style) to replace the sunroof! lol But the unit does need to go. I hope the elecs arent buggered...

    FAO Valver Strippers + Restorers

One thing ive learnt is never by a new car, without selling the old one first. Since the Cup arrived a once very loved Valver has been sat on my drive for nearly 9 months, filling up with water and molding. Ive been telling myself week after week, "this weekend ill do her up to sell" but...
