At least if you got a conversion the time/effort/money wouldnt be wasted.
They couldnt presume youre telling porkies if your mum got a GTT conversion, that would be prejudice.

The clutch is probably dragging..not freeing and still rotating. If it happens in forward gears could be synchros going or linkages needing lubrication, you can get spray on grease which is quite good.

lol young uns!
It is true though, its worth finding out about suspension instead of reading what Max Power has to say. Do it the right way or not at all IMO.

I think the mk1 bumper suits it. And yeah Bambam good point but Prima racing do a fake bumper which is the non-172 size (see that geezers car in the gallery). Cheers Lee and Jon!
I like the smoothed 172 Paddy but im afraid youve been beaten to it! I saw a dutch 172 yesterday with no door...
I havent, but im getting the mentioned spax kit, bit of a bargain for a top name.
With just springs your dampers will wear out quicker, theres no ifs or buts, they will, anyone who says otherwise is bullsh*tting you. The ride will be bad as youll be hitting the bumpstops more often.

Can someone please shop a Mk1 172 front bumper onto a Mk2 please, cheers!

It is true that the Clio Cup has specially made Contis. I think the 40 profile bit was a typo, i dont know of any mainstream tyre manufactures which do that profile for 16 inch wheels.

The problem with powerflow is that the exhausts arent designed for your car, theyre essentially universal exhausts which are then made to fit.
Ive never even seen a powerflow but i doubt their welding is seamless..and how does a universal exhaust balance power, torque, sound, tubing size...
Pauls pretty much hit the nail on the head, unless its a minimal drop its a pretty stupid thing not to uprate the shocks too.
Standard shocks just arent up to the task of controlling the rebound of uprated springs, in fact i dont think they can cope with the standard springs, lol!

Noel, you have to admit their honesty must be good though, basically telling you not to bother with their products!
I am getting BamBams exhaust fitted to my car on Saturday, its a k-tec 6x4. Ill let you know how it goes and try to get a sound clip done.

Unless you spend time properly setting the car up it appears lowering the 172 models over 30mm or so wrecks the handling. Most people go for the barely noticeable looking Eibach kit.

I think ill finish once i have my exhaust, wheels and springs/dampers on. Then im saving up for a new car, an MR2. Originally i was going to turn it into Cup rep but im not going to waste my money!
