So i'm looking to get my first SLR and am wondering to go for the most basic available, or is it a false economy? Should i get a more established model or start off with the cheapest because i wouldn't get the most out of it?
I want to use a camera as much for HD movies as i do photos BTW...
Just curious (can we have a poll?); a couple of winters ago i thought to myself "Must get winter tyres next time." This time, i finally have.
So, who is stubbornly going to carry on with their summar/all weather tyres, and who has forked out on a set of winters?
Just hope it snows now!
So, the Super GT project is still some way away, but we have made one modification to be carried over; a snorkel! The JGTC/Super GT NSXs all had these, giving them quite a distintive look. We got Reverie to copy the design from the latter cars, which were homologated with the rare NSX-GT road...
Dropped the Aston off today for its MOT. The same service centre is the designated place in the SE for McLaren servicing now, too.
Sorry for the poor phone pics but the burnt orange looked fantastic in the flesh. However, i think the rear is the worst angle as it lacks stance. The front is...
So a few have been asking about the NSX. Having raced it in Donington, it was clear a lot more testing would be needed; the brakes were wooden, the car gave little feedback and the power steering wasn't reliable. It also had a huge amount of bumpsteer, which made correction of oversteer really...
I'm not trying to make this forum all about me, honest :o
I missed this on Motors TV, but for a change i actually get quite a bit of time on screen, and its a nice change from the usual in-car stuff. If you want to skip the interviews, start it at 2:51 for some tittays.

Yesterday I arrived back from Denmark. I go every year with my half Danish girlfriend to see her family. Normally we just go by Ryanfair, complete with the queue jostling and cramp, so I thought what better chance to get to know the car with a near 2,000 mile week-long jaunt? After all, it was...
Sorry for the crap background, having some building work done! Got this very low mileage Gen 1 Turbo for a good price. I'm hopefully driving it to Denmark next weekend, but unfortunately have a warning light already, so hoping it isn't too serious :dapprove:
So far it is much more 'pointy' than...
Haven't done a report for a while, i've been waiting for videos but its taking so long i thought i'd crack on. We were at Donington at the weekend, the home of our first ever race a few years back in the original NSX. Despite the 'developments' to turn it into an F1 circuit, other than the...
A few photos that Nick took from Brands yesterday. He did a great job, but unfortunately is a bit of a bad luck charm for the NSX. Last time, he set it on fire and this time, he split an oil hose. I got half a lap in :(
Fortunately, the car worked for a charity ride where Martin Donnelly took...
Last weekend was the Lotus Festival at Snetterton. Its quite a big event there, never seen so many Elises! Think they set a world record for the amount of Lotus' on a track...
We had Friday for testing, where we shared space with old Formula cars and even Procar M1s...
Heading up a bit of dual carriageway to see the outside lane blocked off by a police van. As a i pass, what looked like an unscathed silver 172 was on a low loader near another car and unmarked Fiesta police car. I didn't see the front, so could have been a crash (there is a junction at the...
The NSX hasn't had much season so far this season. Having had the engine built with ITBs, it has had two test days, but both of these were cut short. But early in the year, we entered the NSX into a couple of Britcar rounds just to see "what she'll do".
So we rocked up at Donny on Friday for...
So last weekend was our first trip to the beautiful Dijon-Prenois, which was an F1 circuit up until '84. We started with a test day on the Friday, to get to know the circuit. My only indication of what it was like up until then was good ol' YouTube vids.
This was actually race one of the...
So, today i've put the 911 up for sale. I've used it far more than expected, as it was meant for a member of the management team who decided on an SUV instead.
Got to say, there are many people who write of 911s when they see the word 'Tiptronic', but over the months i have really warmed to it...
Sorry for the delay! Last Sunday it was the first race of the season in our Elise, with its new Go Green Motorsport sponsorship livery you've probably already seen!
As mentioned in the testing thread, my dad and i had both had a day to get used to the circuit. On Saturday, we had Free Practice...
Here are some pics from Thurs/Fri testing before the race weekend. Will get round to a race report once i've sorted all the photos!
Bit of a damp start, glad i was in the Elise rather than the NSX as it was hella greasy!
It dried up after lunch, but the NSX started making a bit of...
Popped into the race team today to see progress. Elise is one week away, the NSX two. Testing starts towards the of March, can't fooking wait!
A new colour scheme...
This time the Elise matches! It has a new carbon roof and engine non-vented engine hatch.
Biggest change for the Elise is...
So, i was travelling down the A24 this morning. Its nothing new to see a hot hatch or something vaguely sporty bare down on me in the 911, so when i saw the unmistakable glow of a 172's xenons, i let Mr Boy Racer get his kick and go past me.
He stayed in the outside lane to take the 3rd exit of...
