I bought this as an OMP however all of the OMP cages and most others for that matter have rear feet that sit on the arches. The rear feet of this sit on the boot floor in between the arches.
It should have door bars but the lugs were removed and one of the door bars fitted as a harness bar...
The strip that runs from the pedals back towards the seat. How the hell do you remove it?!
I tried my spot weld drill which didn't even make a dent, ground a couple of welds, still nothing.
I have a 6mm spot weld drill so I think this may be a bit small. Any other thoughts?
I fitted some of Eds -1.5 rear shims a few weeks ago.
I drove the car tonight and at normal speeds the rear seems very lively. I didn't push I as I have jacketed rear calipers but is this a feature of the smaller contact patch due to the camber?
Alternatively, I think my brother could have...
If I fit one of these:

Is it safe to fit a flow control valve on the line into the unit to block the water flow so the unit can act as a blower for cool air?
I'm sick of trying to get a Cup blower working with my climate 172 plus all of the crap on the bulkhead.
The car is road legal pure track. Has anyone tried one of these?

Is this a price for 1 side or both? eBay is £90 yet these are £50.

Just had a misfire diagnosed as a coil pack. This was replaced 12 months ago when the crank sensor died with a 2nd hand unit.
Should I buy 2nd hand again for £20ish or buy new and if so where from?
How long do they generally last?
As above, we removed the interior loom and dash to fit my roll cage. Now we've refitted it we are getting a red immobiliser light and no cranking.
The indicators at the back work also but not the front. Is this a UCH issue, have I missed plugging something on of is it something else?
Do me a massive favour and take a picture of the small UCH plug with the black half and the grey half.
Can you take a shot end on showing the black and the grey as I need to check a couple wires.
Preferably a phase 2 172.
Thanks in advance.
I've removed my interior loom to fit my roll cage and I have a few plugs which weren't marked as I think they were unused.
The first is from somewhere near the seats/centre console.
The second is the top left of the dash, I think it's the connector for the front roof loom.
The third is...
I stripped my interior and removed the cigarette lighter.
I'm now going to remove the airbag wiring from the dash loom but don't want to remove the cigarette lighter which is nearby. Has anyone got a picture of the connector?
I have fitted a Cup blower to my climate phase 2 172 but found it doesn't work due differing wiring.
I also have a Cup engine loom to fit as I'm removing the ABS which I'm guessing will then have the Cup spec connections for the blower.
Will the blower then work with the Cup loom fitted as...
I'm guessing all of them LOL!
I have a phase 2 non ESP 172.
I'm guessing the ABS removal will bring up the ABS, STOP and SERV lights?
Removing the airbag ECU will then bring up the SERV and Airbag lights?
I'm trying to keep the dash light sequence in contemplation of the new rules if they...
I've stripped down my interior loom to remove all unused plugs etc and am also extending the loom to the fuel pump so I can route it all the n/s then around the back for neatness.
As the car is stripped, poly windows etc I thought it may be worth adding a kill switch into the fuel pump section...
I am trying to get a poverty spec blower working in my climate 172 but am told climate wiring is very different.
Does anyone have wiring diagrams for a climate 172 and non air-con, non-climate model?
I'm currently tidying up my rear loom, removing all redundant wires and connectors.
Can resistors be used in place of the door closure sensors to spoof the airbag ecu and prevent the airbag light?
The cars a phase 2 172.
I fitted a poverty spec blower tonight but on testing it doesn't work.
The original blower worked fine.
When I unplugged the old blower, there were 2 plugs however the new blower only had one plug or did I miss something?
How would I test that the blower is at fault?
Basically I bought a set of polycarbonate windows (I won't say where from) and the rear was terrible.
The edges were warped and it was generally ill fitting. The seller promised a replacement which never materialised.
I am now in the process of a cca claim but need an expert to say that the...
I've bought a Cup non ABS setup from ebay but they seller says his mechanic can't find the rear compensator.
What does it look like and where exactly is it located?
I have an Odyssey PC680 which I plan to install in the boot.
What other parts do I need, gauge cable etc? Where is the best place to source a cage?
As the car is used once every few weeks, is it worth removing the battery and keeping on a trickle charger?
I have a fibreglass bootlid on the way so have no rear wiper an also hve no rear wiper so I have no need for the bulk of the rear loom.
am I safe trimming this down to leave just the rear lights?
I have found and used the guides for removing the upper dash but cant find anything for removing the lower dash.
I want to strip the lower dash from my track car. Any tips on removal and what to keep/relocate etc for refitting of the dash top?
I have fitted polycarbs all round and have also removed the stereo and electric mirrors so now have a number of plugs and loom flapping around.
I know I need to keep the airbag on/off switch connected but am I safe cutting everything else out?
After fixing my abs for my MOT, my last track day was horrible as the ABS removed all braking confidence.
I pulled the ABS fuse which I didn't realise disabled the EBD but I didn't die and put in some good times.
Now I'd like to remove the ABS full stop but don't want the ABS and Sevice lights...
I had my geo done and am now running -2.24 degrees on the front which has made a huge difference.
The rear is at -1.24 and 1.36 so I'm going to square this up with a 10 minute shim. Would another 1 degree be to much for the rear for pure track use?
