    Guess the weight

I have half a Twix and a Scotch Egg up for grabs. Kelv these are very poor pictures by brother took last year when he first removed the lower dash. I've since cleared a lot more crap out and removed the rogue wires you see dangling so it's much neater. The leg of the dash bar you see to the...

Good choice of wheel. I have the same on my M3. I bought my LCI's from here. Currently showing as around £385 delivered. Genuine BMW but they remove the BMW logos before shipping for some reason. Even come with a genuine packaged BMW loom adaptor. eBay 230929383247

    Guess the weight

The track Clio I'm building caused a bit of a debate with me and my brother yesterday about its weight. He came out with some crazy figure of 700kg and I said 950kg. Any thoughts? The spec will be; FF car Fibreglass bonnet and boot with poly rear. All tar patches removed ABS removed for Cup...

I know it well! All of that rubbish on top of the glovebox can go too.

For all of those looking to trim their loom - I've done it today

Just take your time and trace each wire carefully and you'll be fine mate. I reckon there's only 1kg between this method and stripping the whole loom down and removing the lengths of wire in there as well. It's just not worth the risk.

What colour should I paint the interior on stripped track car?

Looks good mate. Should be easy to DIY I guess as well. I'll check the diary tomorrow and see when I'm free. Next Sunday might be the best option.

What colour should I paint the interior on stripped track car?

The car is Iceberg which would be nice but this would take a lot of prep and I'd be upset if I marked it. Satin black would be minimal prep, cheap and I could do it myself but it makes the interior look a bit grim. White would take some prep but I could still do it myself and I could touch...

For all of those looking to trim their loom - I've done it today

I stripped a previous loom methodically by removing all loom wrap, marked all redundant plugs and traced them back to the plugs and removed the pins. This failed for some reason, as others have said, I don't think these looms like being disturbed. So I fitted a new standard loom and gave up...

Major dash/electrical issues - please help

Sounded like the earths haven't been reseated properly onto the dash bar.
  18. len_beach

Is the "leg" on the dash bar structural to the cold steering column?

I have my interior stripped due to fitting a cage. Is the leg of the dash bar supporting the steering column or can it be removed?
  19. len_beach

    Can i remove these ??

Yep, it's an impact sensor rather than an airbag. Just whip the lot out.
  20. len_beach

    Can i remove these ??

Removing them wil bring the airbag light on regardless of using Clip etc. the only option is to tape over the bulb.
  21. len_beach

Anyone know what this plug is for ??

Having trimmed a loom down recently, I think it's redundant.

What's the going rate for fitting a cage?

I'd have a go Rhys but I'd need to buy a welder and a lot of the kit and time really is my most valuable commodity! I've got this cage mate: http://www.ybracing.co.uk/page1.php?sitepage=4&area4=&subarea=248&part=20961 Fitted like Marks in this thread...

What's the going rate for fitting a cage?

I've had my Brothers mate around tonight to look at fitting my 6 point bolt in cage. To fit 3mm plates to the front and rear feet, box section for the main hoop with captive nuts, build 2 door crosses with gussets he reckons £250. Now I'm not sure if that's with or without materials at this...

    Identify this cage?

Que? Lol. If you have a FF then yes. You can turn the light off with resistors or the RSTuner module is a better option.

    Identify this cage?

    Sweet. Thanks Mark.
  27. len_beach

    Identify this cage?

Mine's all welded up so I'll need some notching. Did you use 3 or 4mm plates for the feet? I'm running Spax RSX so the springs shouldn't be an issue.
  28. len_beach

    Identify this cage?

Perfect Mark. Thanks. So looking at yours, did you notch the sill to get the hoop bolts in then plates under the front and rear feet on the inside? Got my welder coming over tomorrow to discuss spec. I must say, yours looks excellent.
  29. len_beach

    Identify this cage?

That's the one Rhys. I'll have a snoop around for door bars. On a side note, the sanwich plate on the cooler isn't thermostatic is it?
