what weight do you reckon for the trophy then 1070, 5kg lighter than the cup?
got the weights from the Renaulsport brochure it says 1090 for 182 and 1075 for 182 cup, no trophy in the brochure so took the trophy weight of the renaultsport website
182 all the way, I have had no problems with mine (touch wood) but the problems people usually have are only little anyway (such as rattles)
Testdrive them all and see what you think
I created this power to weigh comparison the other day for the Renaulsport Clios and it includes thier wwights, so here it is: P=power, W=weight, PTW= Power to weight

An interesting thread! I have to agree that I dont believe the Trophy is that much better than the std cupped 182, (not by as much as Evo would like you to belive) although in the handling department it is improved.
I own a 182 and wouldnt swap for a trophy as I like the creature comforts and...
When I bought my 182 i was faced with the same decision 182 or S3, in the end i never test drove the S3 becuase the 182 was fantastic when i test drove it and was better for finanicial reasons, cheaper running costs and insurance etc
the main reason i picked the 182 though was because i got a...
Average speed is usually just over 30mph as for MPG usually about 37mpg
The highest MPG i ever got was 54mpg, straight out of the petrol station on to a 50 road, suprisingly though it didnt stay that high for long!
I think you need to test drive the 182 before buying it as it is a different kettle of fish to the BMW, my brother had a 330ci and although the pace was the same as the 182 the driving experience is different. i would say the 182 is more fun to drive on a one off but the BMW better for long...
Agree totally, the 172/182 is faster than a VTS/GTI, whether that be 0-60, 0-100, 30-70 or top speed its faster simple as that
They are capable little cars though and much like the 172/182 they punch way above their weight
If you dont want the new clio then dont buy one it really is that simple, and no one can be that suprsied who bought a 182 about Renault relasing a cup version even though they said they wouldnt
As for service costs dont get it serviced at Renault, you dont lose your warranty if you get it...
Not sure this is of any use but ill post anyway, its just a list of all the power to weights of the Renaultsport cars, Power to weight is considered quite important for 0-60 and you said that was important so here goes

Yeah but its not much fun having the windows down on the motorway at 70 mph, nothing like being in an air conditioned car to cool you down on a hot summers day, i wouldnt buy a car without it
