Just looks gash without them IMO and it would annoy me knowing that they should be there! I'm not totally sold on the idea of brake cooling yet anyway was just thinking about it the other day!
I got some yellowstuffs cheaply the other day which I thought would last a bit better than my greenstuffs on the track. So far so good. Plenty of bite from cold and they are amazing once hot it feels like my eyballs are going to pop out if I brake hard. I can't get them to fade so all they have...
Try some high temperature silicone sealant to seal it. You can get it from halfords. Exhaust paste tends to break up and fall out whereas the silicone will flex a little.
They are by nature very whiney, tappety engines. Everyone ive heard sounds slightly different but they all seem to whistle and whine etc. I would say theres nothing to worry about from the vid you've posted. Just get the PAS sorted first and go from there.
Wheres the buzzer? Maybe just disconnect that.
We've got a Nissan Navara truck that beeps when you go over 5mph without for seatbelt on. Bearing in mind it was designed as an working car ie used by farmers etc why the hell did they install a buzzer! When I'm driving across the field at 10mph...
I used to spend ages cleaning it up. If I spill any now i just give it a quick wipe then get the engine going so it burns off.
I'll spilt a bit of brake fluid on the exhaust mani the other day. My god it stunk when it burnt off.
How do you know its loose?
If its loose i wouldn't be driving the car. If it comes off you will probably be paying for an engine rebuild. Did you not get them to change the tensior and pulley with the belt?
Doesn't a 4-1 manifold give higher peak power and 4-2-1 is suppossed to give a better midrange? Or is it the other way round?
EDIT: Sorry for not editing my other post. Senior moment!
I found my sports cat freed the engine up quite a bit. But I would never pay the full price for one, I was just lucky some guy advertised it wrong on ebay :)
