Yeah I really am that stupid..... hahaha:rolleyes:
Yes they would have done extensive testing but the map used will have to have come from a car that has production parts. So as I said the map will most likely have been done on a car that has unmatched inlets.
Otherwise they would be...
^^ Exactly. I had a generic remap when I had my matched inlets installed and the carstarted to run lean because of the extra air the engine was getting so I had to have a custom remap done to suit my mods and the difference it made was amazing.
Without a remap the car will be getting more air, but upto a certain point it will not be injecting more fuel to match the increase in air hence no noticible power gain. Your car will also probably be running lean because of this.
I would say a remap is pretty risk free. All it does is adjust...
Improved power and torque curve. Angelworks is the best place to get it done. To get the most out of them you will probably need a remap though. Do a search as I did a small review on them a few months ago with before and after power curves.
Take it off and clean.
Next step is a new throttle cable.
I highly doubt you need a new throttle body. Renault will charge you through the nose for one as well
The cluck will be low down in the car as its the mainfold hitting the subframe but the problem is caused by a worn mount. It can be solved if the mounts seem ok by loosening the top mount and pulling the engine foward. (Do a search and you will see what I mean)
The engines are quite whiney as...
What I meant is its the cam coming 'on'. It is to do with the cam profile and various other things in the engine. Its basically when the engine becomes its most effiecient and you get a nice boost in torque.
Most people know that the variable valve timing in the clio's is not like vtec...
The 5k kick is only there because its where the cams become most agressive. All a remap does is smooth out the torque/power curve which will make the kick less pronounced.
