Its flashing to let you know there is a fault with either the fuelling or ignition system that could potentially damage the CAT. It could be a few things really but without diagnostics you're not gonna know for sure. Just send it back to AC as it's their problem. Mick

75w/80 is the specified oil but a 75w/90 will also be fine.

Are you sure it was "fully" refurbished? I bet it was bearings and synchros only and they missed the diffs crown and planetry gearing.

Personally, i'd spend on a proper diag. session to see whats triggering the alarm first. It could be an internal alarm fault (in which case you de-configure it or, if its aftermarket, rip it out) or it could be a legitimate trigger? I had a spate of new-ish Vauxhalls with this kind of problem...

It is most likely that you have an airlock, a buggered water pump or a blockage/head gasket failure. So, who's been working on the coolant system recently? Mick

Bank 1, Sensor 1 is pre-CAT yes but is it the sensor itself or associated wiring? This is normally what a proper diagnostic session will tell you as at the minute its a 50/50 guess. A faulty sensor doesnt always give a loss of performance; Maybe they're only faulty at a certain temp or range...

Clockset in to test mode, cycle thru to the error code screen, press and hold the trip reset, key off and all should work again.

Never re-use a stat gasket... especially not one thats been in the car since Christ was a lad! Always replace with a new one and if fitting a new stat ALAWAYS test it opens and closes before fitting it.

How exactly would you like us to help you with this? Can't you just solder them all afterall, they're all airbag related? Just be sure to disconnect the battery before you go thrashing about with the SRS wiring... please.

Have you had any diagnostics performed yet? The problem is most likely one of two things: 1 - wiring; either in the connector or between the connector and the ECM OR 2 - The fault is nothing to do with the CPS and needs proper looking at to diagnose. Mick

£380 for the timing belt and aux. kit change or if you want/need the dephaser pulley its £580. I need some notice though as i used my last stock aux. kit yesterday on Daveski's 172 so let me know via the websites contact us section. Mick

check the rear earth points and the connectors to both rear lamp units. If no problems observed move back inside the car following the loom all the way back to the UCH. Mick

Sounds like a PAS hose has blown or the aux belt has snapped and took a piece of a pipe with it. Need pics really though buddy but bad form it happening this close to Christmas. Mick

Sounds like the box has locked up for one reason or another (proberbly damage)... rebuild or replace.
