I didn't realise they'd flared the end of them now!
That might be why they're now saying to press them in from the inside - I bet that's awkward though
Is that there attempt at making them weldless?
Tapped in from the outside until they're level with the bush - CORRECT and ready to be welded
Pressed in from the inside - which is INCORRECT because you hit the wishbone before the sleeve is out far enough
End thread.
Seriously mate - you're a f**king moron
Everyone here is telling you you're wrong - and trying to HELP YOU
There's 4 shots on here alone showing how they SHOULD be fitted with the metal sleeve all the way to the edge of the bush - and you're still arguing saying it's impossible
What do...
OF COURSE it will - what you've got is 10mm of bush with no casing - that will allow LOADS of movement as the bush itself is quite soft and unrestrained
If the metal sleeve had been fitted properly all the way out to the chassis - then the bush flex would be restrained by the metal sleeve...
You've pushed them in from the wrong side ;)
You pressed them in from the inside of the wishbone because it's tapered and looks logical - but you don't do that you press them in from the outside of the wishbone
It's a b**ch - we had to file the hole tapered slightly to get them started - but...
Ahhh but the sachs aren't height adjustable so you can't corner weight it LMFAO
I think the problem with the sachs are he said it would cost more than £1k
I priced up refurbing and unpinning a set and buying koni rears - did cost a fortune to be fair :(
519 - maybe. I've spunked all my money...
Please please please come to a track day and jump in my car. Standard suspension is nowhere near good enough for track days
And damping doesn't affect body roll - that's ARB's and spring rates hehe
I get the feeling most people replying here haven't read the thread - so I summarised it
Standard car, getting camber, getting rear ARB, has a £1k budget and wants adjustability for the future
Wants fun on track and doesn't mind if the car puts him on the spot every now and again
I don't think...
Yes and I fully agree - if its a road/track car that you just want to piss about in occasionally - you wouldn't waste £1k on coilovers - like I said the eibach pro springs and cup shocks I had were fine for a low 9 minute lap of the ring - and cheap
BUT the whole point of this thread is to...
Ermmm if you're building a track car you'll be running semi-slicks on a completely flat racetrack too
Are we even reading the same thread?
OP asked for a decent track setup for under 1k "something solid" - SPAX is clearly the answer as it's in budget and allows enough adjustment to set the car...
Oh yeah I agree - if you haven't got a £1k budget I woudln't say Spax is the best - I'd be buying KW V2's
But the OP had a £1k budget - and I really do think for that money Spax is a better track setup than bilsteins
Fully agree - But that's opening a whole other can of worms isn't it -...
That's definitely not a bias valve - there's no brake pipes going into it for starters :)
It's the xenon height sensor - it moves the xenons up/down depending on the weight in the boot
It's not s**t on track compared to a standard car - it handles well
But it's waaaay too soft for track use. I've taken well over 150kg out of the Clio and put a 60kg cage in - the cage is all on the rear half of the car - as is the battery
It tends to understeer and when I had it properly...
Quite clearly neither of you have ever seen or been in a Clio Cup Race car?
They're solid - and I mean ridiculously solid
And it's a bit daft saying "the most important thing to change is springs" because if you change springs you need to change damping to match - so adjustable damping is JUST...
Cage is the same one I had last year
It's an OMP 6 point converted to have a full cross and harness bars. I just took it out to paint the interior and ermmm never got round to it lol
Aye it's a terrible job
Only thing you'll be able to do really is see if you can get a dremmel with a cutting disc on up there and cut it off
Honestly it's just not worth the hassle - bit more noise and less power. I wouldn't decat a clio again
Well we're moving house next week so it's chaos here and I haven't had time to do the service yet
But I got a call today to say my Clio is being mapped on Monday afternoon
Excited and nervous is an understatement LOL
I'm excited to be able to properly thrash the hell out of it at Anglesey...
Cheers Ian - i'm all paid up now with Flux for a year so I'm just praying I don't have to contact them ever again and i'll try someone else next year LOL
I don't agree with you there at all - not having DA means they're no good as soon as you alter the weight or weight distribution of the car
You can easily tweak the damping on the Spax setup and even swap springs for stiffer ones if you want - that makes them much more usable as a track setup
Little review of my experience with Adrian Flux over the past month
I have been with Chris Knott for YEARS but as Adrian Flux are advertised all over modified car clubs, and sponsors of FCS etc.. I thought I'd give them a go
So I rang up for a quote. It took AGES to tell the guy everything...
Excellent choice
Tamron quality really is shite - and with the 55-250 canon lens being so good for the money I always wonder why people throw money away on tamron crap.
You'll love that lens!
