Those are the ones, cheers Mitch. I can't believe it's only the 172 that has this shaped side vent !! I will end up spraying them I think, just a fiddly job, esp. as I've seen black/dark grey ones.:mad:
I've seen a pic, which I now can't find, of the vent type I'm after in a black/dark grey (mine's blue). I need to find the model, it's not a 172, but should be another mk2 ph1 clio of some description.
I need to find the model of clio that has the same shaped side of dash air vents as a 172 ph1, but in black. Would be much appreciated if someone could put up a pic of the vent as i'm working away from home at the moment.

I spoke to charlie at Prospeed about a custom 4-2-1 manifold for my ph1 172. He was relunctant to do it, and recommended finding an existing supplier, because he'd need the car for 3-4days, and it would cost around £500. The problem being getting all the sections of the pipe the same length...

So as well as replacing the LEDs, for the desired colour, you need to remove the orange filter for a clear one? Any ideas on a suitable material?
Am I right in thinking a bonnet vent should face forward if it's acting as a cold air intake for the Ik and face the rear if it is for removing hot air from under the bonnet?

I really like black clios, but I think you have too much black on the car. It lacks something. The black looses it's affect. Some subtle colour change somewhere would help it out ie red calipers.
IMO you need equal tinting on the front and rear side windows. It looks cack with the rears done darker. The problem you have is that it's illegal to have darker tints on the front now. In a year or two you will fail your MOT if the tints are too strong on the front. Up to you
I believe the phase1 172 swtches have different blocks from the newer switches. You will need a brand new loom to use them. I wanted the ones from a 182 but they don't work.
Thinking off mounting my battery in the boot, allowing more space for the IK. I was chatting to my local ICE delaer and he said that it's illegal/MOT failure to do so unless you a)provide a vent to allow any acidic fumes to escape OR b)use a dry cell battery (Optima).
Is this correct?

I'm about to do this. Mike at Rentech kindly showed me how to get the calipers off. It's only two bolts on a 172. The pads then just unclip. Should be easy to work on then. You can get the paint from Halfords (Folia Tec) and that includes the cleaning liquid. Like others have said, get a wire...

Would someone be able to give a short guide or two on how to do the common photoshop jobs that people ask for on here ie colourcoding, new wheels, lowering?
