Open the passenger door or the drivers one then press the sentral lockig button on the inside that willl lock the boot then close the door and lock the car. But if the boot isn't locking with the remore then sounds like it won't lokc with the above anyway.

Just get a cheap second hand engine stick it in your car doesn't take long them rebuilt your over time if you want.

Won't make any difference realy. Won'd make much more power either get the intake manifold reworking done as well if you want any extra decinet power. But tunning the 172 engine with money level like this arn't very cost effective.
