If you rburing more than 1 liter per 1000 miles I'd look at why if its an older engine and its on track then fine.
Renault say so long as it burns more than 1lieter per 600 miles its not right but anyhting over 1 liter per 2000 miles I'd look at why.
Tunning to get reliability isn't cheap 120hp stock I think 200hp and you want to realy spend some money and get it relaible.
172 engine is cheaper and more reliable and newer and better for tunnine for reliability.
Stock stuff is fine though. There are good reasons why sme stuff isn't harder. Mounts for a first harder lower mount wears the others out quicker.
Leaking rear dampers- christurbo has a set of front and rear damapers for sale.
Don't bother with aftermarket stuff its all rubish stock are much better. Renault spend loads developing them aftermarket places just get a hard rubber and make it fit.
Yep see if there any holes.
The holes in the scuttle panel to the car dahsboard are can leak so check them but you migth need to remove the Polen filter etc to check
Also check the door seals for rips etc. Best idea is to strip as much out rh car as you can and get someoen to wash the car...
Eisback or however you spell it are the best springs alone IMO. But your much better off spending on new springs and dampers as well in the form of coilovers say H and R but there £750 or so.
If you want power the intake manaifols working are the best value realy. £180 or so your looking at...
What are you using to say how worn the disk are?
vernier to measure wearing part of disc
specs for thickness are the ones you sent me in the renault manuals, thanks again for them
Arr right so long as your not working off what others have said or made up.
Sounds like the disks and...
You can pikc up 172 for that much there phase 1's but I do premefer them.
You can pick WIlliams up for lessI know of a few which have been picked up for sub £1k.
gh milage wi bound to happen 100k will be very normal nothing to worry about.
Biggest killers on them aee the body rusting around the sills and the rearand general problem the cars are 10 years old.
Best idea I can give is to buy the best you can and stroe it for a bit and strip off all...
Yep not in the Uk they did make some though 4x4 basic system with the L7X engine (the V6 engine which is similarly used in the Pugeots 406/Volvo's and the Laguans and Clio etc.
Renault sport racing but it didn't include light and was pricy.
Best place is to buy the panel from scrap yards and have it sprayd up its not worth it buying the stuff from Renault do a 172 conversion front end at best it won't cost much more.
Check for accident damage particualy if its a Cup.
Check the clutch gearbox and all electics.
Engine quite bullet proof
As for price check auto trader there cheap at the moment.
No read disks are cheap its the fact they have pushed in bearing in them which up the price and you won't want to resue old ones as there not that good anyway.
Sounds like your sliders on the caliepers need lubriacating up to even out the wear which is a common problem.
Brain i assume you man UCH? ie the box which goes ontop of the glove bos in the dash?
Extra you'll need add up
Radiator
Driveshafts
Exhaust manifold
Brakes (you'll want to change the lines and pads etc so thats £200 for uprated stuff.
I'd change the brakes clutch and all the belts then...
They have there advanatges and disadvanatges. WOrst thing is you get dedicated I cannot drive on my own to some places as I've forgoteen which was to go you follow what the stupid system says. Mines tried to send me all over to stupid [places up one way streets in the past.
I'd buy another...
How can it ever be worth it you can pick up 172 realy cheap these days.
Most conversions don't have the full 172 bits ie rear disks for the price etc.
Freds not finihsed his only just got the engine and got it fitted I think.
Also insurance can sometimes be a pain
Forget engine changes its not cost effective if you want a challenge and something to do them yep but a 2.0 Williams engine is a better idea or a Valver and use a 2.0 bottom end.
1.7 engine someoen was doing on here and gave up I think r5's been done rmany times before but th 2.0 has more...
