To get the light off disconnect the second cat sensor and have the fult log removed.
No needf to have the second sensor connected on the 172's.
172's can pass with a decat but then again they can fail with a cat on emmisions.
Thats on a dry engine ie when Renault built it.
5-40 or 10-40 is fine.
5-540 protects down to -30 or somehting 10-40 protects down to -20 or somehting like that so 5-40 is better but not truely essential.
The 182 and 172 are exactly the same as the 1.2 /1.4 etc exactly the same body shells.
Trohy and CUp both have 4 stars i eblive even with no side airbags.
Mouns usualyl the dogbone one which has gone is £30 or so. check its in the right place though.
Selecter mechanism cheap to adjust get a Haynes manaul shows you how to check.
Gearbox expensive £300 then fitment.
Might be your clutch they can wear depends how its been used. If it clutch...
Its the switch or the wiring looms.
Take the panel off and check the connection.
Mine did it I never fixed it if you switch back to 0 then up again it worked and never bothered me that much.
Disagreeing your suggesting from how I read it
You see high RPM is good because you can run lower gears, which make the wheels easier to turn, so increase acceleration.
In your example a 50000rpm engine making 200hp would accelrate faster than a 500rpm engine making 200hp it wouldn't...
What calrkie means if you just try drain and resull your box you don't manage to get all the oil out so you won't get the same amount itn Renault did when the engine was new as some old oil is still in there.
I'd say you'd get about 0.5 lites less in My williams took 3.5 liters when the clutch...
If you drop the clucth in 5th then the problem is your wheels are wanting to spin at high speed but have very little torque. Gearing meana that when you drop the clutch in 1st the wheels have more torque but spin so much slower.
Gearing just changes the rpm and torque at the wheels lower...
Its a valve the phase 2 and 182's have to make the cars quieter for sales abroad makes no difference IMO to the power bit more noise arguable people thing it makes a huge difference so each to there own.
Nope unless its a fair bit over. The engine will burn iany excess just have to make sure it doesn't blokc the breather or get all over the throttle body.
Hp at the wheel is Hp at the wheels there no getting away from it. Nothing else matters.
3rd doesn't accelerate as quick as you've got drag slowing you down more. You get 200hp at the wheels in 1/2/3/4/5 gear a car won't accelerate as qucik as drag is lower.
Milage isn't an issue realy the 1.2 engine cheaply built but they can take a load of abuse.
Check all the electrics etc work and the engine has no problem with uneven idel etc.
Not much to check for other than general wear any tear and rust but if there rust probably means crash damage.
Depends on your car tunning do you have an induction kit exhaust etc?
On a stock car there not very big gains most of its mid rangfe making the delivery nicer.
An off the shelf remap is £200~300 and a proper custom map is £350~500.
Personally I woulnd't do an off the shelf one I'd get a...
Thats quite high milage for an 03 plate car though plus the Experssion isn't the popular spec as its a bit low.
72k service includes cam belt which is about £250 including the service so IMO get them to knock that off.
200hp at the wheel is 200hp at the wheel regardless of rpm of the engine they will both accelerate as quick.
A golf tdi at 2k might make 120hp at the wheels will accerate as quick as a Honda etc 1.6 which is scremeing at 8k if it is still making the same hp.
