Viper stripes definitely. I just saw a red Metro with colour coded wiper arms, a sign that said Youve just been Metroed and bolt on roof spoiler and off-centre viper stripes. Wicked!
As promised, SAM Steffanson in Sweden have just sent me a catalogue for the Clio 1 - basically the 16v and Willy.
Its like a dreamworld of uprated parts - almost as if you went back in time to the original Clio Cup in the 90s and they have all the parts to supply your Cup cars and keep you...

In the wet the Scoobies on the track werent that great, in a fwd car it evens up the playing field a bit. The rwd cars were all over the shop at the first hint of rain.
Brakes have always been the Scooby weak point which is the strength of the Clio.

Ive posted on there so lets see if he can beat my 16v before he tries for a Willy. Hope hes local, I wouldnt mind racing a GTi-R - would be a nice scalp for my collection! Probably will be a struggle though...

If that TicTac shaped tailpipe is the H&S one, Id say leave it, I was following a mystery 172 in traffic the other day and it looked like a cheap bolt on tailpipe trim. Far too flat and wide. Sorry if its anyone lurking on here that Im talking about!
The classic Magnex 6x4 oval is nice as...
What I mean is get coilovers and not only can you wind them up and down for whatever drop you want and the handling will stay right, but they are that much smaller so you can fit a bigger rim without scrubbing problems (as long as youve dumped the sh*tguards and rolled the arches)
OK Itll be great to have another 172 - but think hard over the next couple of days - if you want to go on the show stand I need to know for definite; yes or no, and whether its one day or both.

Well more 16v drivers run Magnex than anything else AFAIK. I do myself and never had any trouble with it, its quality gear. Like Lofty says its a bit tight over the torsion bar at the back but thats the design of the car, not the exhaust.
Yeah spot on -60mm will do nicely, or if you want to go serious say a 60mm drop with 17s or 18s, then do the job properly:
Take out all the sh*tguards
Roll the arches
Use coilovers for more clearance
100mm drop on 18s will look mental!
Yes Tony, weekenders get the Autoglym stuff. If youre there on Saturday the free stuff is all yours. Anyway, I thought you were going on the other stand? Email me about it mate, I can still fit you in. Just!
Errr, Im not the world expert on Willys and their differences. but Id say if youve got the lolly definitely get a Willy over a 16v.
Phase 1 had no sunroof or electric mirrors. Not sure about ABS.
Phase 2 would have had an airbag Im pretty sure. Other differences are the cosmetic...
Hmmm, not wanting to be a wet blanket here, but Id be surprised to see a standard 172 beat a standard new Scooby. They might not be as quick as the old ones but theyre still very quick...
ANy 172 driver got a mate with a new Scooby whos willing to 1/4 mile it and see whats what?
