All problems should be sorted a worn gearbox and clutch might occure depending on milage check for unknown noises and crash damage though.
£4.5k is way to much though £4k at best for a phase 1 IMO.
You cna pick them up for £3k on the trader if you wait about with higher milage on.
DS2500's are more resistanct to fade but there £60 I think. Plus there queeky from cold and not that good from cold.
I'd stick with stock FDB 845 for the money personally.
GDi will do it plus most garages can do it its just a whole swop of the wiring etc from a 172 inot a different shell.
Expect to pay £500 to £1.5k for the labour depends if they want a project etc.
Rear oneyou undo the bolt which is under a plastic cover in the boot and undo the bolt under the car which holds the shock to the rear arm.
No need to even jack the car up.
For th front you need to undo the top mount thingie which is bound to be stuck solid then jack car up remove the two...

What to replace depends how mucb you want to spend a complete rebuild your looking at £2k wth of bits an labour.
Personaly I'd just chnage all the fluids and thats it.
Stock pumps fine its got 120 liters/.hr capacity so thats ample for most people.
If you want more fuel then get the Evo upgrade pumps and swop the pumps over as the Evo one fits and is much cheaper.
Depends how many miles you do mine worked out to be ever after 20k or so.
5.6p a mile saving for me so after 71k the savings quite a bit (about £3k) plus its worth a bit more resale. Servicing is slightly cheaper as well.
Thee Clio vvt isn't like Honda etc
Its actived at 1.6k and deactivates at 6k from memory so long as certain conditions are met ie 750mbar intape pressure (ie high throttle) and when coolent temp is over 60 degrees or something.
All it does is advance the intake cam timing by 16 degrees. it...
I'm never convinced by these the response might be improved as spool up time is reduced as for mpg I'd recon its down to driving have you tried wearing ear plugs see if you get better mpg? Loads of people recon exhaust give HP but they forget one reason is they subconshiously don't drive it hard...
I'd have to do lower milage to get a petrol so maybe a 172 Mk1 or build the Clio out of the right parts.

£100 for top mounts is a bit steap IMO parts are only £20 then say an hour and a halfs labour.
They look like ther £16.50 from GSF. Fitting not to difficult just remove the wheel, drum and move the pads out the way. Then you you need to put a clamp on the brake pipe then undo the brake line...
If the car has the dark wheels its got Cup packs (assuming they havn't been swoped as some were)
If it has the lighter coloured wheels it isn't Cup packed.
