I personally would do all 16 valves. I sent a head off to be remachined, with 6 suspected bent valves. turned out all of them were shot and the guides had been damaged.
those are for hanging the tool on a board ;)
you need to hold the cog still with an 8mm whilst tightening with a 19mm, if you dont do this, you'll rotate the cam sprockets and they'll spring back when you slacken the locking tool
Got to say, I think you're over thinking it a fair amount. just fit what you have (and thats from someone that sells alternatives)
If you didn't have an ECU I'd push a GEN90 for most of the reasons you've said already, it's an incredibly powerful bit of kit. BUT.....you already have a 600...
I've fitted a dozen or so of those kits/loom. It would have had a lambda wire spur in the loom originally. Thats been buggered about with. 100% get it wired in. Lambda is as important as air or water tem sensors IMO
it's a bit of a prick to do. The water pump MUST be changed, and to remove this the entire aux setup needs unbolting. Think we charge about £430 with gen bits
