Re: anyone elses foglight dimly light up when sitting at lights with a foot on the br corroded earth. Used to get a better fault than that on cars with pop ups. twin filament bulbs would blow and short between the terminals, so you press the brake and the headights pop up. Instant airbrake!!!

Doesn't "need" a specialist, but you'll mostly find general garages hate working on renaults. They'll probably tell you to ask elsewhere or charge a lot for it. You're looking at around 2 to 3 hours labour, and the cost of the gasket (£20ish IIRC) plus oil, and it makes sense to chuck a filter...
