The main problem with any mk2 that isn't a dynamique or RS is the god aweful 2 tone dash. The authentique is a bit poverty though tbh.
None of the Ph2-> come with manual windows.
I'd always stick with the proper viscosity with the renault boxes, it needs all the help it can get. The castrol stuff isn't bad tbh i've used in the my old 1.6 and the 172 and its always been an improvement.
The fuchs stuff is probably worth a try though, I almost ordered that instead of the...
There isn't really any difference in driveability but it won't develop full power obviously.
Thats exactly what mine does, always does it in the same place if I just get in the car and drive off.
If anything the powerflex bush will just make the others fail quicker, replacing all the mounts with new ones will make no end of difference if they're shagged as it stands. I wouldn't bother with uprated ones full stop, the 172 with the extra 4th mount is a million times better than a normal...
The first few minutes is mostly due to it running open loop until the lambda warms up and it switches from cold start default values. 85c coolant temp (or whatever the limit is for the VVT/high limiter) doesn't come up until the temp gauge is pretty much at the normal middle position so its...
Its linked with the lower limiter so you don't thrash it from cold basically. Its not enabled so you don't get the power further up the range so you should let it warm up.
Do you have any problems with the idle hunting at all? Slow throttle responce?
That was my problem: http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?t=294024

It'll be the wrong box for a 172. The ratios won't be right and you need a box with a mechanical speedo drive for a cup.
You need to get a cup JC5 gearbox.
Just remembered that the alternator is bolted at the bottom as well as the top so will the bracket move so I can't get the bolts back as the tension on the aux belt will pull it toward the block or will the crossbrace hold it for the time needed to swap the inlets.
May have a set of matched inlets to fit my the 172, only question is on the removal/refit of the lower manifold as the aux bracketry bolts into it in two places and while the bolts are removeable insitue from what I can see only the crossbrace to the block would be holding the alternator...
When the VVT solenoid opens it sends oil down the centre of the inlet cam to the VVT phase shifter in the pulley and advances (iirc) the inlet timing by 16degrees.
It shouldn't move when the engine is off, mine never did.
No.2 is seam sealer where the weld for the flat panel instead of a spare wheel well is, leave that well alone.
The soundproofing you can f**k off if you want.
They can/will whine on low speed manuvering due to a restrictive return line, theres a renault techinical note on it about a replacement part if you'd have taken it in under warrenty when it had it.
But shouldn't whine all the time, although if its been the same for 3 years and never got any...
