You'd be able to take a feed of the existing interior light in the roof, not sure how much current it'd be able to take. You could always use it to pull a relay in to turn the neons on and take a power feed from the battery or the fag lighter, only possible problem is that the light fades down...

You have to take the spoiler off and the brake light bolts/screws through from behind, not sure if you can get to the actual leds though.

I accidentally overfilled mine to the same level, had about an extra 500ml in it. Drove round with it for a week before I realised what i'd done and it never seemed to do it any harm, just sucked the extra out the dipstick hole with a 500ml syringe and a bit of tubing.
