I just used mine as I normally would from day 1, didn't cane it and wasn't soft on it either. Never seemed to do any damage, sound did improve over time.
Right, i've got my renewal coming up and will be getting a new car at the same time probably be a Clio 1.6 or a Yaris T-Sport really torn but thats another story.
Basically there coming back with quotes half the price of anyone else to renew on my car then change to one of the above in about a...
Well what the auto function does is it'll reach the set temp as fast a possible and maintain it automatically aujusting the vents and fan speed. With the auto setting off and just setting your own fan speed and vents it'll get to the set temp but only by using the vents and speed you've set.
I...
I've velcroed mine, but as said above its not really a brilliant idea. Is the quickest, easiest and most non permanent though which is why I did it, stops it from moving around the boot during enthusiatic cornering.
I've got a dimmer wire in the power iso connector can't remeber what colour it is though its in the haynes manual, so i've taken a feed off that stuck a bullet connector on the end and plugged it into the female bullet on the alpine loom.
I've got the dimmer cable from the renault loom connected, it dims it with the headlights if thats what you mean. Doesn't light up if its off and you turn on the headlights though which is what i'd like it to do too, but I suppose you can have them all.
The manual actually says not to connect it...
I've managed to fit an Alpine CHA-S634 in the standard bracket, only a 6 disc changer though and thats a tight fit don't recon anything bigger would fit.
Had to modify the bracket a bit to bolt the changer to it too, hole spacings were different.
Mine idles reletively rough when you start it in comparison to other cars, have changed the plugs and it made no difference. Just think there not smooth idling engines and theres nothing you can do about it, its alright after 20seconds or so though.
When it gets into the pistons it stops them due to hydraulic lock, thats why it stops pretty much instantly. Seeing as its going into the crankcase where there oil is designed to be it doesn't lock the engine.
I've got:
Alpine CDA-9855R HU
Alpine CHA-S634 Changer
Infininty CS5012i Front/Rear
JBL GT4-12 Sub
JBL 75.2 Amp for Sub
JBL 75.4 Amp for Fronts/Rears
The JBL sub, amp and a wiring kit is avaliable from halfords for £170 (or at least was in store in the last 4 halfords i've been in) and for the...
I only notice the treble if I fade fully to the front, with the rears in it doesn't sound too bad, the rears are quite muddy really and the tweeters do a great benefit of hiding this really.
I wouldn't bother disconnecting the tweeters because you'll have to take the dash off and imo they do a...
Don't think there actually any difference in the way they work, there just made by different manufacturers so got different names unless the tuner works differently or has extra functions on the cabasse. Apparently the Cabasse isn't as good as the VDO for sq but i've never heard one so can't...
Its the 05 onwards renaults as a whole that have the cabasse update list headunit, the previous ones all use the tuner list so you can get a 182 with the older headunit.
The connection looks the same but not being a dayton hu i'm doubting it'll work.
Yeah, thats what I did just got the standard changer just to tide me over until I got all the alpine stuff together, sold it on ebay 2 months later for the same price I bought it for.
The alpine is way better though having 6 discs worth of mp3s is a godsend, but you do pay for it though. I've...
If you put the dash into diagnostic mode, by holding the trip computer button and turning the ignition on, you can page through the trip comp menus and it shows what faults have been registered on a basic level.
I'm sure I read somewhere that if you press the trip reset button then it clears the...
I've got the CAD adapter and it works brilliantly and unlike the other adapters avaliable you don't need to take the dash off, you need :
This:

and one of these for the make of hu you...
You just need the normal release hooks to get it out, you can also use two bits of wire but i've never tried :

Renault run the cable all over the dash and down the passenger sill then to the...
I'm pretty sure that you can't actually reset the ecu, I think only renault can do it.
I've had my battery off for ages before and the car always starts straight away and runs fine, with the fords i've had experience with they run a bit rough for about 5 or so miles as the ecu relearns all the...
Yep get one from ebay. I did this before I replaced it with an alpine hu/changer, its pretty much just plug in and go as long as its a tuner list headunit.
Its well worth getting the bracket from renault to mount it under the passenger seat too, its about £7 as far as I remember.
