chopping it in is a good way to go, but the place I am buying from is not really into part-ex.
I usually want to get on with things and will price it keenly to move on. I don't think residuals on cars are ever very good, so I am mentally prepped for it. I can't see it going for much more...
I am looking to sell my 182cup (1yr, 12k miles). I have got the range of prices they are advertised for from the fs section, but I was wondering how many people have sold theirs and what they actually got for them.
Thanks
Graham
Does anyone have the above? I am frustrated by the fact that my 182 cup doesn't seem to get going till about 5k rpm, so I have been thinking about what might be done to make it pull better at lower revs (ie extend the power range downwards).
I thought that having a look at a dyno plot would...
This is a bit of a silly question...the intermittant wipe on my new 182 cup doesnt seem to have a speed adjust and it is almost like it is on normal wipe with a very small time gap between wipes (IYSWIM).
Anyone know if that is the same on all the 182 Cups?
Graham
What do people run their 182s on? The fuel filler cap says 98ron which I guess equates to optimax or SUL. Is that what people use? Cant imagine why a 180bhp 2l shoudl need SUL.

so it seems you have two choices on running in. You either follow the manual or you do what the fiddle you please. I have never read such a load of uninformed tosh in my life. Not one of the conributers here has any evidence or even engineering logic behind what they say.
You just need to...
No comment on the whys and wherefores of what happened here. But surely the reaction to this kind of situation is the emergency stop? Off gas, on brake, on clutch. Both hands on the wheel. Surely that would do the trick?

People, dont lie, they just talk bo((ocks, as they know no better. Just look at you lot. Good job we all come here for peoples unadulterated, uninformed, enjoyable sh*te :-))
all car forums including this one are the same in this respect. If people really think that they can judge the performance of their cars by what happens on the road, then they are sadly misguided.
I have driven a load of fast kit in my time. Latest being an Evo MR340 which is outrageously...
I think you are wrong Mike. The law obliges you to disclose anything that could be relevant to the insurance risk. Suspension changes and spoiler changes are changes from the standard 182 spec and are certainly performance related. It would be hard to argue (for example) thay they dont affect...
I had exactly the same conversation with Elephant on a 182 with cup packs. Unfortunately you have to describe the car to the best of your ability. Aftermarket or not, it does not change your obligation to tell them what the car is. What they do with the information is then their choice. If...
Im 44. I have just got rid of my Evo VIII to get double the fun...with my forthecoming 182 cup and a Radical clubsport that I pick up tomorrow, not to mention the caterham and 106 rallye (which my daughter claims is hers, but I bought it!).
I as going to ask Arianne exactly the same question...
I am sure its been done before, but can anyone summarise the differences between the 182 cup and the 182 with cup packs please. Looks like the difference in price is about £1000 (10,795 v 11,795 on the interweb). There doesnt look to be anything really key to me.
Thanks
Graham
not managed to do this as it normally counts as a new policy, but some companies (such as elephant) will put a 2nd car on using the same ncb terms as the original policy. So if you have full ncb, you can apply it to a 2nd car (provided the drivers, location etc are exaclt the same as the first...
rsclio.172 cup, Ill tell you WTF its got to do with anything, and I DO have a problem with it. Every single customer service and sales operation I have spoken to in India has been appalling. The phone line quality has been appalling, the knowledge of the market place has been appalling and the...
just gone online. You cant do that with elephant if you are a customer (!), so I did a quote for my brother Paul who lives with me and is a day younger. The quote for a standard 182 or a 182 cup was the same at £453. Ill just phone them up during the day and talk to someone who a/ speaks...
Just been talking to my insurers (Elephant) who want £762 to insure me on a 182 with cup spoilers and suspension. So is that expensive you may ask!
Well considering the car that itll be replacing on the insurance is a Evo VIII MR FQ 320 chipped up to 340 spec, guess how much that was...
thanks guys, just looked on ebay seen an black one in the UK and blue one in Jersey. They dont mention the cup packs though. Can one tell by looking?
Graham
I am looking for a 182 Cup. When did the start being made/sold in the UK? Whats the sort of price I should expect to pay for an early one privately? Where there any teething probs on the early ones?
Thanks
Graham
Well, I went for the test drive, bit of a waste of space that! Didnt get out of 3rd gear and above 28mph! Anyway, it was good, so Im on the buying trail. I have posted a wanted (along with my evo fs).
Any hints on how to get the bext price out of a dealer (if I have to go that route) for...
