Wet passenger footwell - windscreen seal?

Cheers. Although the trim is not the seal I'm pretty sure the seal is not perfect. Ever since I bought the car theres been a whistling noise when driving over 60mph which increases with speed. Hav'nt always had this damp problem mind. I'll investigate the bonnet release gromet and door seal as...

Wet passenger footwell - windscreen seal?

(Posted this in the Exterior/Bodywork forum last week to barely any responce, hoping for more here! :) ) My passenger footwell is wet and so is the bulkhead (correct term?) at the back of it running up behind the dash. Part of the windscreen seal directly in front of this area is visibly loose...

Think my windscreen seal has gone.

My passenger footwell is sopping wet and so is the bulkhead (correct term?) at the back of it running up behind the dash. Part of the windscreen seal directly in front of this area is visibly loose for 10cm or so, so I'm assuming this is the culprit. Now, how much is this going to cost to fix...

    Bye bye back box...

f**k that for a laugh! I only drove for 25min with it off and my ears rang for the rest of the day!! Was scared to touch the throttle. Fortunately it did'nt do any damage to my car or those following me. Watched it bounce down the road behind me across two lanes of traffic, all of which missed it.

    Bye bye back box...

Mine literally lasted a week from when it first started blowing to falling off completely. Parted company on the motorway on the way to K-tec for a replacement! Was loud to say the least, I don't recommend it.

    172 Cup in the wet

Its the lack of ABS and lack of weight over the rear (even more so than a normal 172 as theres no spare wheel). Less weight over the rear means the back end is more lively. That along with no ESP to rein in any cack-handed driving means you need to be on the ball. Can't say the lack of TC...

Can't believe you did'nt test the Maxogen. Surely that is the benchmark for all the other kits?

    Clio 182 - Engine Gone 25k

When was that released out of interest? Very interested to see evidence of this if you can dig it out.

    Wheelspin - hop & judder

Its called axle tramp and is normal. You obviously were'nt being that carefull with the throttle ;) I've only done it a few times. Seems to happen when you just catch the point where the wheels begin to slip and manage to hold it there without getting full blown wheelspin (at least it does to...

    Rolling road results my 172

Well what was the torque figure on either RR? As that is what appears to be wildly inaccurate from your cars results. BHP was about right.
  21. J

    Rolling road results my 172

    They should make 169bhp (172PS)
  22. J

    Rolling road results my 172

170lb/ft of torque - yeah right!

I think my speedo is out on my 172 cup?

Thats how it should be (all speedos' should over-read slightly). Mine seemed similarly accurate at 134mph when I checked it against GPS (on track of course ;) )
  24. J

I think my speedo is out on my 172 cup?

Surely it can't be the wheels & tyres as they are the same as what was originally fitted to the 172 Cup. I'd ditch the 182 alloys pronto personally. They look gash compared to the Turinis! and they weigh more.

    Melting Steering Wheel: Renault Reply

Bingo! All the moaning on this thread about "disgusting Renault" is a bit ridiculous really. Its a cheap French car. This kind of things happens! Everyones happy to pay the lower asking price due to poorer residuals than other German marques but does'nt want to have their cake and eat it...

    confused!!! clio 172 bhp??

More likely to be the benefit of no AC and how they are driven* IMHO i.e. very hard! due to the generally more enthusiastic Cup driver. Anecdotal evidence certainly indicates 172 Cups are more likely to make the book power than other RS Clio. At the CS rolling road day I attended there were...

    bonnet catch letter,

Think I got a bonnet catch letter today too (I've been told a recorded delivery letter came from Renault, I hav'nt been home to open it yet!). Surprised they've sent one now, this issue came up ages ago! Got a feeling I've already had a letter before but not can't remember 100%. As it happens...
