I know where theres 2 phase one airboxes ;)
Seriously, i dont know why folk get a stiffy on about panal filters and ph1 air boxes. If they were that good they'd a been bolted to the next generation ph2's and 182's !
No gains tho as its a direct replacement for the OE item.
If you want gains from a Yozza you have to go for one of their race systems which is too loud for everyday use.
Quality spot on, just a shame theres no middle of the road exhaust which gives a little gain and aint too loud like the...
Anyone tried to fit a williams / valver inlet on a F4r head??
172 / 182's have this massive twisty induction track and plenum piping before it reaches the anywhere near the head.
Must be some gains to be had by creating a William's / Valver come Honda set up where the TB is bolted straight...
For the ultimate performance end of the market tuning then the VAG route is the way to go but dont kid yourself its a cheaper option, its not.
Its just a much better alternative in the long run and potential wise than turbo-ing the OE F4R lump
K-tec sounds crap going from the vids iv heard. Raspy yukkk
Not sure what its like in real life but the vids have put me off big time
GDi one seems the best all rounder but for some reason not that many folk seem to have one.
Why is that?? :S
On paper they look the best all rounder...
(172 / 182 application not generalising)
Number 1, load of rubbish. It dosent lower temps by that much as a whole plus in anycase, like the open CAF thing, you dont get heat soak / hot standing air in a engine bay once the cars moving so wont make a jot of difference to inlet temp (in the...
You do know you dont need a custom exhaust with a 182 manifold conversion
All the difference is, is a link pipe so you can stick with a standard aftermarket 172 exhaust even without hacking depending on the size of the link piece.
While where on the subject.
Does anyone know if the...
Its been proven that you dont get ram effect till silly speeds (130 mph sure it is?) and probably even less so through 1 metre of twisted piping
You stick your hand down at the end of your CAF and get someone to rev the engine. You will not feel any suction from the IK. It can only suck air...
You dont need to tell me fella, my CAF post was based on pretty much the same experiences as you but i felt it made a lot better difference not connected. ;) :) plus what a roar it gave
GDi also recommend not to have it connected.
For me it just made it more free reving. Freed up the...
Folk need to communicate more with their dealers instead of automatically assuming there 'all' shite and expensive and out to get us.
Ask them in person what their doing, why have they has it 2 days and ask them about the belts.
The advice is to change them. If they arnt going to do that...
If you can build the 172 system with a adjustable telescopic pipe end (cat to centre section) that should be the ph1 and ph2 172's catered for all in one go plus the 182 converted ones.
From reading on here there seems a suprising limited choice when it comes to after market exhausts for the Clios.
Most of the big companies dont get a look in due to their crap back box designs. Then you have the tuners who's systems are either too loud, no gain, too expensive or rasp like a...
If its connected your relying on the air provided through the CAF ONLY.
When your in travel you dont get much heat soak anyway unless its in heavy traffic, warm day, or the cars been idling.
Dunno. You can buy a Maxogen for 400 for how many BHP??
Cams gives you what, 15 bhp mapped for about a grand?
'Most' exhausts gives you just about nothing for upwards of 300.
End of the day like Tesco's say, every little helps especially if this is to be one componant in a bigger picture ;)
