When i was 18 (last year) i paid £986 for insurance on my 1.2 clio dynamique. That was with elepehant, with my mam and dad as named drivers on MY policy. I found mods upped the premium by 40 per mod. Hope this helps

yeah i got a very similar quote at first, u need to add your parents to the policy, and it will drop by a huge amount. also if you keep your car on the street at night, its cheaper :S dont no why? i wud have thought keeping it in a garage is surely safer lol. sev

some people are just so cynical! i was just curious why some people take such high risks to save a few 100 quid on there insurance, which could end up costing them thousands, points, or even banned or jail sentence.

there is a very fine line tbh but im sure if your insurance is void because of minor mods such as alloy wheels, the insurance company will still payout for 3rd parties, just not cover the damage to your car?

so people who do stuff like map there car, add alloys etc are taken a huge risk if they were ever to have an accident. Also if you were in the situation where you took some1s life, and your insurance was void because you put alloys or whatever on, what would happen? Theres no price to a life...

you should really spray in hotter weather conditions i think, however once its dry try rubbing it down with very fine wet and dry paper, might give a better glass looking finnish. Just an idea, might work, its worth a try anyway :)

also maybe try quinn direct, they were the cheapest for me.they also allow you to mod the car aslong as it doesnt affect the performance, and if i can remember you can drive other cars around the similar cc (but im not sure)

its crazy, ive got no points, no previos crashes etc, yet we all get hit hard on insurance because of other peoples mistakes. When we are young, we have the most money because we have little outgoings (no mortgage repayments), so we can afford nice cars etc, but the insurance is just a killer :(

it sure is, im a twin, and me and my sister both have 1.2 clios, both with 1 years no claims, i pay £987 for insurance (because im male), whereas she pays £522 with 3 points. its a bummer :(

if i do decide to go with the 15s, and they look stupid on the car, its quite a pricey mistake to make :( what does any1 else think? i would also think about, 182 anth wheels, but unmarked second hand ones are like gold dust on here.. cheers cliosev

Thanks for fast replies, however if I did buy these alloys, what do you think I should lower my dynamique by?? -60mm??, but will this mean I have to upgarde shocks?? or maybe only lower it by 35mm without putting so much pressure on the shocks??,but would this make much of a noticeable...
