sorry for the late add, my bf's ax vts has jus been featured in Performance French Car, also another lad off there won 2nd best in PGTI car of the year for his AX VTR turbo. Plus Glenda from Fast car owns a very nice AX VTS (which he had featured when he started working there)
there was 7 of us on the first track session of the day at 9am, there was a clio sport goin round same time as us, my fella was in a blue ax (vts engine) and was keeping with the CS and then got past it on one of the straights

so its the position rather than the seats? i was kinda looking forward to them nice seats in the 172's. They really can't be as rattly as my AX!
Has been a good read this thread as will give me an idea of what is normal when i come to test drive one!
i don't think i'm gonna be a wreckless driver, if anything i will be more careful in the clio as its gonna be something i will value as its worth a bit more
more likely to cause injury to myself on my horse lol!!
basically want to get something i want to keep for a while once i get the back pay from work as im the sort that will spend the money quickly on crap that women usually spend money on ie clothes, shoes, holidays etc, and would like a car that both me and the fella can enjoy driving
i'll only be giving it some to the point where i feel in control, ie on the straights until i feel used to the car etc, and then i suppose experience will come with time with the 172
got the first car already, keeping this one too as the insurance is not that bad anyway and is prob a good car for me getting some trackday experience
TRAX this weekend!
that was my thinking too, insurance must think the same really as well to give me the quotes ive had.
cheers guys, put my mind at rest a bit as it had me worried that its gonna be too quick, but they are only as fast as you want to drive them really, but the fella is adamant im not experienced...
After endless discussions with the bf (who has an ax with a vts engine in, and also a 200sx s13) he thinks after me only driving for 6-8 weeks the 172 is too fast for me and i will be bumping it before long. I've told him it won't be but is he right?
Also the parents are against it (not that...
ahhh thats pretty bad!!!! i'd hate that! no doubt it would be some young nugget raggin the arse off the car!
I'd be ok my bf's dad is a mechanic and stays at the MOT station while they are being tested!
Definitely demand a valet though!
yeah as said only had the licence just over a month now, so not too bad, guess being old and being female has its advantages!
last month i looked for insurance and was thinking it would be probably double my premium on the AX but surprisingly not!
yeh spot on, added my dad as a named driver, i'm 25 by the way, so that prob helps, and my premium on the AX is higher as it had engine transplant and small mods
Thanks for the advice yesterday Taylor about insurance companies, just had 2 really good quotes from Elephant and Admiral for a 172
£850 fully comp! Only had a licence just over a month aswell!
Thats only £150 more than i currently pay on the 1.4 xsi engine in the AX!
lol mine is a forte shell with a pug xsi 1.4 engine in, so same as an ax gti with saxo vts brakes etc, pretty nippy but im sure the 172 will feel pretty damn quick in comparison.
Cheers for the info on the evo mag, might have a look on fleabay to see if old copies are on there
Looking at buying a 172, but would like to know the difference between the Mk1 & Mk2, ie cruise control, air con, climate control, seats, sat nav, any engine/suspension upgrades between the two mk's
Also what sort of mileage/year could you expect fo £5k or am i looking to spend more to get a...
Hello i'm Lynz
Looking at getting a clio 172 (one of the earlier reg ones ie 01/51) After a bit more info on what comes as standard on the 172's ie climate control, air con, half leather seats etc
Also anything to beware of with them when looking at them?
Cool site too btw!
Cheers...
